Jeromy, Paolo, and Shannon

I’m introducing this next Whimsett Cove household a bit differently; I wanted to take more formal portraits, and since these next Sims are all a bit artsy-fartsy and fashionable, it fits with their style. :-D

First off, we have Jeromy Stearns:

Jeromy, Paolo, and Shannon

Jeromy comes from one of the wealthiest families in Whimsett Cove, and great things were expected of him when he went off to college, but his heart just wasn’t in some grand profession like medicine or the law. His passion was the theater — acting, directing, and writing plays.

Map of Whimsett Cove – February 2013

Just a little map of what Whimsett Cove looked like in February, which I thought I’d better post before March is over! ;-p Lots #2 and 9 are finished but haven’t been posted here on the blog yet. If I did this map today, I’d also have a lot near the town green marked for the bank/real estate agency/newspaper office and another lot off in the far upper right corner for a work-in-progress residence.

dunno

6. Desmond/Jefferson Residence (Coralyn & Lexie)
7. Zinella/Hughey Residence (Mark & Blaine)

Residences: 10

Empty Lots that I don’t know what to do with yet: too many to count!

Plans:

Manketta Island – My tentative plan is to make this a swanky area for moneyed tourists and residents — if there’s space, it’ll have an upscale inn/B&B, a fancy French/traditional restaurant, and a country club/park. Although I might end up putting some or all of that in another area, depending on space.

University Campus – The new University Life Expansion Pack is full of cool build/buy items, but we can’t replicate the full gameplay in our homeworlds, so I plan on building my own university and “faking it”, probably with custom careers and Margaret Pendragon’s University Life rabbithole rugs. I did delete the airport/landing strip and place the UL rabbitholes themselves to see how they would look, but they are framming HUGE! and dwarf everything else on the island. So I look forward to creating my own little campus buildings! I’m going to aim for a Tudor Revival/Gothic feel in that area.

I have about six half-finished lots right now, so my goal is to finish those and then try to focus on the “downtown” part of the island. It still looks so empty! And I’d like to get around to PLAYING one of these days! ;)

Pearlie’s Market

Moving right along…here’s the next community lot I built for Whimsett Cove (we’re up to about January 4th now!) I was particularly excited about it because it contained my first successful recolor of a mesh — Sandy’s “Beautiful Maggie” sign from her Irish Pub set. :D

The lot is called Pearlie’s Market, and it serves as Whimsett Cove’s grocery store. Now Uncle Elvis has a place to sell his fish!

Mark, Blaine, and Toffee

Hi all! I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything in ages; I was on vacation for awhile, and I’m finally getting back into the swing of things (just before University Life and Sim City come out! Whee!). I thought I’d better continue with my Whimsett Cove posts — I’d really like to catch up to where I am now before too much time passes!

In my last post, I introduced best friends Mark Zinella and Blaine Hughey. Mark and Blaine live right across the street from Coralyn and Lexie, in a modest New England-ish ranch home.

The Chowder House

When I saw that Sims can buy Clam Chowder from the winter concession stand that came with Seasons, I thought it would be awesome to build a restaurant that could be famous (at least locally) for its chowder. It’s another one of those New England cliches. ;) I also wanted a casual pub type of place where my average Joe dudes could hang out, eat chowder, have a drink, play foosball, etc. Thus The Chowder House was born.

The Chowder House

It’s not a very unique name — if you google it, you get about 375,000 results — but I couldn’t come up with anything I liked better. :-p

It’s about a block from the lighthouse, with a nice view of the sea….from the sidewalk, anyway!

Desmond House & Whimsett Cove Elementary School

I’ve probably mentioned this already, but I’ve been alternating building residential and community lots in Whimsett Cove to avoid burning out on one or the other, and sometimes I build them simultaneously. I’m also throwing in a little gameplay because it breaks up the building/decorating and allows me to get to know my Sims a little better. :-) No one is aging yet, and even when they do, I don’t plan on using TS3 aging, but doing what Sandy does in her world, which is play whatever Sim-month I want to for however long I want to, and age my Sims up manually if their birthday falls in that month.

Anyway, that’s all for later on! ;) For now, I have more picspam for you, this time of a house and a community lot that have a bit of a connection.

This is the home of the Desmond/Jefferson family:

Desmond House & Elementary School

I started building the house shortly after Seasons came out, so Whimsett Cove was transitioning to autumn. Gotta love the fall colors!
