This is a bit random…a collection of landscape pics from Matkooskee/Whimsett Cove. Some are the same shot, just at different times of the day, or from slightly different angles. So pardon the spam; I seem to be a little obsessed! *rolleyes*
I love this little island and have taken so many pictures of it…
With these next few, I was testing out a mod that made the sky colors like EA’s Sunlit Tides world (which has the MOST gorgeous skies). I ended up taking it out, though, because while it’s incredibly beautiful, it just didn’t seem to fit with the New England-y, coastal Maine feel that I’m going for in Whimsett. I like the naturally clear tint to the regular Matkooskee skies — it feels fresh and calms me when I’m playing. :) I’ll save the luscious colors for when my Simmies visit Sunlit Tides on vacation!
Here’s an overview shot of the main part of town in winter — you can see how empty it still is! Although I have added a few lots since this was taken.
(I’m so happy we have Seasons now…winter is magnificent, although I’ve since changed my game to spring, since real life winter is a drag lately! ;) I need sunshine!)
I’ve become a bit of a lighthouse maniac — I have THREE of them now. There’s this one, which is of course the Sunset Valley lighthouse and was already placed in Matkooskee:
The second would be the one I built, which you guys saw a couple of posts ago.
And then I decided to add the Monte Vista lighthouse, because it’s pretty. :D You can never have too many lighthouses, right?

I love the pinkish sky. And the frozen winter! How splendid is that! (I was about to write "cool", but that woud have been a too bad pun! *giggle*) There's something so serene through those scenaries covered by snow!

Wow! These shots are gorgeous. I especially love the winter night shots. The clock tower & city hall (I’m assuming) remind me of back to the future for some reason. I’m weird like that. This world looks like it will be amazing!

I love the pictures of Whimsett Cove. It actually makes me want to play this world. I have it, but so far haven’t got into it. And Jen, there’s no such thing as too much pic spam. lol

LOL, I’m of the same mind…I love deserted islands! :D It’s too bad you don’t play Sims 3…I’d make you upload a Sim-self that I could put in Whimsett Cove! ;-)
When will it be available to download?
Hi Tommy, thanks for your interest, but my lots require so much custom content, they’d be a huge pain to share and download. :-/ Most of the lots I display here are lots I’ve built for myself, just for fun. I share the pics because I find it inspiring to see other people’s pics of their creations, so I figure someone might find mine inspiring, too. When I create a lot specifically to share, I try not to use any or very little CC. You can find all of my available downloads in my my Parade of Homes category.
Wow! I adore everything you do! If I could live in Whimsett Cove, I would. Which prompts me to ask, would you consider putting it up for download? I know you built it off of someone else’s world, but it’s still your creation! If you do, I’ll probably never play another world :P. thanks for sharing with us!! :D
Hi Sera! Thanks so much for your kind words. :-D I doubt I will ever offer my Whimsett Cove save file for download, though, because it’ll probably take me another 2-3 years just to finish it! LOL. Plus, by the time it IS finished, it will have a massive amount of custom content — we’re talking thousands of items — and that would be a mess. I did originally start out with Whimsett Cove using very little CC, but it evolved into a larger project than I had anticipated, so now I’m using CC by the bucketloads. So I apologize for not being able to offer this world or the lots for download. :-/ But maybe my pictures can inspire you to build your own? :)
I totally understand, and I just really hope you’ll finish it for yourself, it’s awesome! Believe me, it does, I’m just very bad it :P
