Pearlie’s Market

Moving right along…here’s the next community lot I built for Whimsett Cove (we’re up to about January 4th now!) I was particularly excited about it because it contained my first successful recolor of a mesh — Sandy’s “Beautiful Maggie” sign from her Irish Pub set. :D

The lot is called Pearlie’s Market, and it serves as Whimsett Cove’s grocery store. Now Uncle Elvis has a place to sell his fish!

Mark, Blaine, and Toffee

Hi all! I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything in ages; I was on vacation for awhile, and I’m finally getting back into the swing of things (just before University Life and Sim City come out! Whee!). I thought I’d better continue with my Whimsett Cove posts — I’d really like to catch up to where I am now before too much time passes!

In my last post, I introduced best friends Mark Zinella and Blaine Hughey. Mark and Blaine live right across the street from Coralyn and Lexie, in a modest New England-ish ranch home.

The Chowder House

When I saw that Sims can buy Clam Chowder from the winter concession stand that came with Seasons, I thought it would be awesome to build a restaurant that could be famous (at least locally) for its chowder. It’s another one of those New England cliches. ;) I also wanted a casual pub type of place where my average Joe dudes could hang out, eat chowder, have a drink, play foosball, etc. Thus The Chowder House was born.

The Chowder House

It’s not a very unique name — if you google it, you get about 375,000 results — but I couldn’t come up with anything I liked better. :-p

It’s about a block from the lighthouse, with a nice view of the sea….from the sidewalk, anyway!

Desmond House & Whimsett Cove Elementary School

I’ve probably mentioned this already, but I’ve been alternating building residential and community lots in Whimsett Cove to avoid burning out on one or the other, and sometimes I build them simultaneously. I’m also throwing in a little gameplay because it breaks up the building/decorating and allows me to get to know my Sims a little better. :-) No one is aging yet, and even when they do, I don’t plan on using TS3 aging, but doing what Sandy does in her world, which is play whatever Sim-month I want to for however long I want to, and age my Sims up manually if their birthday falls in that month.

Anyway, that’s all for later on! ;) For now, I have more picspam for you, this time of a house and a community lot that have a bit of a connection.

This is the home of the Desmond/Jefferson family:

Desmond House & Elementary School

I started building the house shortly after Seasons came out, so Whimsett Cove was transitioning to autumn. Gotta love the fall colors!

Elvis & Lucas Mortinez

So…I mentioned Fran’s cousin in my last post (he was the kid watching the ant farm in the lighthouse)…here’s his family and their house!

Fran’s cousin is this little guy, Lucas Mortinez, seen here fishing with his dad. His dad is Fran’s Uncle Elvis, who has been around since the TS2 days. :)

Elvis is a little older and grayer now, but he’s still a whiz at everything — cooking, cleaning, fishing, gardening, you name it. Unfortunately he has a bit of an unlucky streak, especially in the love department. The only success he had in that realm was with Lucas’s mom, who is gone now — she was struck by lightning while in the garden one afternoon. *sniff*

Village Point Lighthouse and Vivarium

I have another lot from Whimsett Cove for you…the Village Point Lighthouse and Vivarium! I built the shell ages ago before Supernatural came out, but I got sidetracked by that EP and couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with the interior. Once Seasons came out and I saw that awesome sculpture with the shark jaws, I was inspired to make it into an aquarium of sorts…but since it has insects and reptiles, too, I’m calling it a “Vivarium”. :) (Thank you to Tedhi from The Sims Daily for the suggestion!!)

Mayor Litton’s House & Family

Ack, I’ve been so terrible about updating this blog!!! :-( I’m still Simming away, of course, and posting like mad on The Sims Daily, but I have been neglecting to re-post stuff over here as well. D’OH.

There’s a bit to catch up on, so I’ll jump right in! (And for those of you who already saw these pics at TSD, there is nothing new here to see! :)

I did post there a few more times about Lenore and Drake in Moonlight Falls, but I haven’t played them since October, so I’m jumping ahead to what I’ve been working on since then, which has been Whimsett Cove (a.k.a. Johnnywr’s Matkooskee).

Meet Delaney Litton (a tweaked version of Dee’s self-Sim from TSD), her husband Andy Cain (made by kimjimbob), and their daughter, Joanne (a toddler version of WOE’s self-Sim). (We have quite a few self-Sims posted at TSD, and it’s fun to re-use them in all sorts of creative ways! *insert evil laugh here*)
