I have three more houses available at Parsimonious (where my name is “Maude”):
Cooper – “For the small family that likes to live large”
Found in the “Medium” lot section of residential
Carraway – “A luxury cottage”
Found in the “Medium” lot section of residential
Baird Cottage – “A starter home with room to grow”
Found in the “Small” lot section of residential
Look for more houses based on your suggestions in the coming weeks! And I’ll continue to take your requests, so keep ’em comin’. :-)
Oh these are awesome Jen! I can’t wait to move somebody in!!! Thanks!!
Adorable houses! Carraway will fit in with the houses I have in Veronaville. Thanks for sharing!
They’re beautiful, Jen. They really put my own building work to shame! Thanks!
Yaaaay! :D I especially like Baird Cottage, I love tiny dwellings like that. *glomps it*
Jen, don’t forget to make a house for the Brokes/a single mother with tons of kids, please! All my layouts for her end up looking lumpy at best. Though at least her obsession with pink makes the color scheme easy. XD
WOW long time no check on blogs I finally got to update mine! and I’m so glad it all worked out on your game, and love your houses i’m dowloading them rite now!! keep it up jen!!
I love them! I usually don’t download houses–I prefer copying down and building my own houses from actual house plans–but I might give yours a spin. You rock. -glompers-
Hi Jen! Love your houses. I hope you don’t take this as a complaint, maybe its just me, my computer, or the download, but I crash whenever I try to enter Baird. It goes into my game, I can place it from the catalog, but everytime i try and enter I get the “This application will now close.” box. The other houses worked great! And gorgeous, and LIVABLE!!
Oh no! I wonder what’s up with that. Is anyone else having a problem with Baird Cottage?
Huh. I’ll check in my game and report, I haven’t tested any of them yet.
I’m having no such problems with it. I checked all the other houses too and they worked like a charm.
Hey, Jen? I love Carraway. Could you make more Victorian-esque houses like that? =) I know I know, I’m demanding. But they’re all so pretty! *flails*
Gethane, I had a thought — did you use the Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer to install it? Or do you have that program on your computer? Because maybe you could try deleting the lot from your catalog, download the zip again, and re-install using the Clean Installer. This time, only install the lot, not the wallpapers or anything else that might show up (it should only be wallpapers or floors, but just in case). Then try it again and see if it’ll let you enter the house. You might be missing some wallpapers, unfortunately, but maybe you’ll at least be able to play it?
Kay, thanks for testing it! And I’m always up for making more Victorians! That’s my favorite kind of house to build. But actually Carraway was from a 1920s house plan. Do you like cottage type houses like that, or do you want some multi-story Victorians with turrets and such? Or do you just like the Victorian style of the interior? Just wondering so I know what to build! :-)
Victorian interiors would be number one. :D I’d love to see more smaller houses like it (I’m slowly but surely setting up a custom Victorian neighbourhood with richer and poorer areas) but anything you feel like making is a-okay with me. I really liked the wallpapers you used, its hard to find good floral ones like that! And extra kudos on setting up the floors so it looked like inlaid woods and carpets. Yum!
thanks for the suggestions jen. Unfortunately, I tried three different times with Clean Installer and it was a no go. I did get an odd error last night when I was first installing several houses, so I’m sure something got corrupted somewhere. When I was first installing houses, though I don’t remember which one, Clean installer told me it didn’t recognize one file.
You know, the first time I looked at the lots, I thought “Eh. I like that one okay. But NO DOWNLOADING LOTS, SELF! NO! That is not what you DO!”
Then I looked at them again just now, and went “oh, my cheeseballs. Why did I not download these?” They’re all so nice in their ways, I can’t figure out which one I like the most. I like how Baird Cottage is such a nice little starter home (the lots I use the most– >_>;; ), I think Cooper’s modness just kicks butt and takes names, and Carraway is just beautiful.
…I just totally have to install these. I’ve got a few Sims in my prosperity challenge who are going to have to strike out into the world pretty soon– and, boy, do I want to move them into one of these places so much! Namely, Cooper. Alas, they’re not really the “type” of Sims who would live there.
(Soon, my pretties! Soon! *cackle cackle etc.*)
Oh, peas, I almost forgot: Thanks so much for making them base-game compatible. There have been so many times I’ve thought “eep. That lot. It must be in my game,” but found that I didn’t have the right EPs. (Because my setup is kind of abnormal, compared to most people’s: Original, and NL. No university for me!) So, they’re all going “okay! If you have university and nightlife– because WHO would make base-game lots, anyway?– then you can have a PARTY! Yay! Yay! Yay! Ew, not you people with just Nightlife, or just Open for Business. They came out too late. You may as well just have the original, you noobs!”
…not that anyone really does that. But, still. Thanks. :D
Wow! Jen, I looked at all your houses on Parsimonious and I’m floored! They’re amazing! I donwloaded all of them, and I can’t wait to play them. Thank you!
: O …..I just realized that was only the medium section. Holy dental floss. I must go back for more!
I love this blog, I am so addicted to it. My favorite is family is by far the shanleys. I was just wondering if you could please re-upload shanley manor to the exchange so I could download it and maybe uncle Liams house to? Well thanks for this great blog and you wonderful sims.
Hey Jen, how’s everything? It’s been two weeks and no word. :o You don’t need to put up an update to post, I promise! Tell us about your soup can collection or something. I need my Jenba hit! :D
Oh Jen, where are you? I know I don’t comment much, but believe me, I read! Like Kay said, you don’t need an update, just let us know you’re OK :)
Laura – I’ll see what I can do about Shanley Manor and Uncle Liam’s House. I think I have them around here somewhere!
Kay & E-Liz – You guys are awesome, thanks for hanging in there even though I haven’t been posting.
Thanks Jen! I’m glad your back I was wondering where you went. Wow!!your life sounds hectic, but fun.
Oh there you are! I’m glad you’re back, Jen :)
