Well, it looks like the rumors were true — the first Sims 2 expansion pack is going to have a university theme, as stated in EA’s press release. There are even preview shots posted on Snooty Sims.
I have mixed feelings about the announcement. I am currently working on a university story myself, so obviously I like the theme, but I guess I was hoping for something else — I’m just not sure what. The new career paths will be awesome (especially if one is Musician, which looks like a possibility given the pictures), and as long as there are new objects and interactions, I’ll be happy.
I’m wondering, however, if I should continue with my college storyline (in which all of my primary families finally converge), or scrap it in favor of something else, and do a much more in-depth (and probably easier to accomplish) college story once the expansion comes out? Food for thought.
I think you should continue with what you’re doing… and when the second generation comes along, then they can benefit from the expansion pack.
I’m all for new interactions and objects, too. That’s my favorite part of the game. I just wonder how it will all work in the current TS2 setup. I’m blogging about it, too.
