Well, pooey. It looks like lots created with Nightlife or Open For Business installed are NOT backwards-compatible; that is, if you do not have NL or OFB, then those lots will probably crash your game when you try to enter them, even if you install them with the Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer. This happened to some of you when you tried to play with the Vallonia lot. I apologize for the crashing and the inconvenience; in the future I will put a disclaimer on my lots, letting you know which EPs you need to have installed in order for the lot to work correctly.
If you do have a crashing lot in your game, you will probably want to remove it. If you can load the game and get to the lot bin in neighborhood view, you can delete it from there. If you can’t load the game, or it crashes when you try to delete it, look in your My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Teleport folder and find the file by the date and time installed. Delete it from there. If you can’t find it in that directory, try looking in My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\LotCatalog.
I’ll be posting more houses this week. They’re all built — I just have to take pics. I’m also working on a Ravelo update and figuring out what I want to do with the Burrs. It occurred to me that since Shady Bluff had a “boom” in the 1920s, and the Burrs are currently IN the 1920s, they could move to SB and live there while I’m building it. It’s a thought, anyway. I just need 18 more hours in my day, as usual…
Ouch! I downloaded it for use in my prosperity hood, and it worked great. I love it Jen, I really do.
mine was fine.it was kinda funny cos i looked downstairs and there was loadsa furniture and then upstairs and it was empty!dont worry though everything is a ok the walls and carpets were there and everything.
Kitty, you just made me realize…I forgot to furnish the upstairs! Egads. I can’t believe I did that. :-/ Well, the next two will be distributed unfurnished, so we won’t have to worry about that. Sheesh. I’m sorry about that.
Augh!! Sorry the transfer didn’t go as planned…or as hoped, at least, unless you’re psychic (man, that’d be cool). Anyways, I’m having a great time with the downloads (XM SIMS is fabulous for hair, as you had advised, PLUS, the Eyecandy site and All About Style…love the clothes!!) although I’m hoping I’m not going too overboard.

I am so sorry that the downloads didn’t work for some people!!!! I decided at the last minute not to download it. I think that you should move them to shady bluff b/c that way you might be able to bring more people into the story. Just a little new to add on the old. but you should get more opinions.

i think lots aren’t backwards compatible if you use some of the build mode cheats that come specifically with those EPs. those who download and don’t have these EPs might not be able to load those houses. they can also crash/not load if objects furnished were clones of objects from these EPs.
if/when you have time, read Numenor’s post here about playing other EPs while you have them all installed. i have not tested it myself, personally, but it’s been useful for builders.
