Good afternoon, my dears! Tired of all the drama yet? There is quite a lot of it to be found in Mt. Geneva, that’s for certain! But believe it or not, there are some days on which almost nothing happens except that people eat their cereal, go to work, water their plants, hug their kids, and grow a little bit older.
That’s how it has been going for the Dobbins family, anyway, since Will and Paige got married. If you remember, Paige was used to a rather more luxuriant lifestyle than Will could provide for her, and he wasn’t sure how he was going to make up for that. His eventual solution? Move back in with the parents!
A key factor in Will’s decision was the impending birth of his first child. That’s right, not long after the wedding, Paige got pregnant! Will couldn’t think of a better way for his child to grow up than to be surrounded by loving family members. Joely was overjoyed to welcome them back into the house, with one exception: Gustav House just wasn’t big enough for a family of six. So they built a new one!
Paige found the new house (dubbed, simply, ‘Dobbins House’) to be much more comfortable than Will’s tiny bungalow and took to lounging about in the living room as often as possible.
Joely couldn’t wait to have a grandchild, even though she was still in the midst of raising little Rory.
As for Rory, he was still a happy-g0-lucky little kid who loved his parents dearly (he obviously had no idea his dad was a lying, cheating knave).
Paige eventually gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! They named her Olivia.
Around that same time, Will started campaigning to become a SimNation Congressman. He put in long hours at the campaign office and gave countless speeches at town meetings, but being a people person, he enjoyed every minute of it. He also loved being a father, but between that and his campaign, he was starting to get a little worn out.
It all paid off, though, when he won the election and became a Congressman! The family celebrated by throwing a combination election and birthday party, since Rory was due to become a teen that same night. Rory grew up very well, and there was much rejoicing!
The very next day was Olivia’s birthday — her life as a toddler was over! Her uncle Rory held her as she blew out the candles on her birthday cake.
The Dobbins family partied long into the night. All of the excitement made Olivia so tired that she passed out contentedly on the new living room sofa.
Yes, it seems that Will made a good decision — with his parents’ help, Olivia grew up well, Paige was able to get enough rest and go back to her job, and Will became a Congressman. Sure, they might have been able to get along fine on their own, but it was so much easier — and more fun — with the family around.
It makes me miss my family, dear readers! Well, maybe not. They were a bunch of idiots. Oh well! This is Maude, signing off.
Hehehe…I love the new baby. Congrats on making congressman too. My sims careers are sadly lacking lately. I must get on the ball with that. LOL!
yay for babies!!! Joely looks for being a grandma! :)
It looks like Will has really forgiven his dad. And it’s neat that he and Paige moved back in with his folks. (How did you do that, by the way? Did you have Joely invite him to move back in?) All the drama is great fun but it’s nice to step back and look at normal, everyday, happy life. :)
i just reread my comment and i left out an obvious word! i meant:
Joely looks GOOD for being a grandma! :)
Lani – Hehe, the careers can be fun but there’s nothing wrong with having Sims who live a life of leisure! ;-)
Kathy, LOL — the Elixir of Life does wonders for grannies. ;-)
Kara – yep, I just had Joely invite him to move back in, and he brought Paige with him. It allowed me to build them a bigger house, and with four salaries coming they could build a collection of nice stuff pretty quickly. So it worked well for all involved!
Hi, I love reading your stories every chance I can get, but I was wondering how you use WordPress? I would love to start a Sims2 blog, but I downloaded WordPress, and I have no idea how to use it. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Kristina, I just started using WordPress myself a couple of weeks ago, so I’m a bit of a newbie. :-) The best advice I can give you is to check the WordPress Support Forums and the WordPress Wiki for installation instructions. You will also need a hosting service if you don’t have one already. My host is A Small Orange. My plan costs $5 a month, but I think there are free hosting services out there, too (check the wiki). I am happy to help if you have any questions — just drop me an e-mail at jenblog @ gmail.com. Good luck! :-)
