No Killer Kites Just Yet

Hey, guys. Thanks for all the great comments on the teaser. I had a blast setting it up, and Maude always enjoys having her say. Unfortunately I’ve hit a snag regarding the continuation of the story (and no, the snag isn’t OFB — my copy should be arriving today, though!) — so it’s on hold until I work things out. In the meantime, I figured I should finish the other updates I started a long time ago. Since I have both of them partially written, I thought I’d ask you guys what you’d like to see next. Here are your options:

The Ravelos – The girls are sophomores at ALT, and it’s Misty’s turn to tell you all about it.

Annabel Island – Flora the Housekeeper continues to make trouble at the DeGroff house while the DeGroffs join the Braytons and Loves for Christmas.

And next week, perhaps a Shanley update — I think Ruby and Ginger the Fortune Gals would be great candidates for starting up a business…

  1. I vote Ravelos, too. The last update was a lot of fun and I would love to hear what this sister has to say. :D

  2. The Ravelos sound pretty nice, myself. Though I would love to see the residents of Annabel Island around here pretty soon.
    You’re so lucky! I pre-ordered my game as soon as it was available, and stupid me chose free shipping, which takes a week. So I won’t be getting my game until around next Tuesday-Thursday. At least that’s what I’ve been told. I had extra money, though. Enoguh to buy the Prima guide. So that’ll occupy my time until the arrival of OFB.
    Good luck on writing. I know how hard it can be suring a block like this!

  3. I feel silly– I mentally mixed up the Ravelos and the Shanleys. >_>;
    So! Now that everything is less mixed up– Totally the Ravelos! I was itching to hear about them. I’ve got a box of Nightlife next to me (and spork if its whole “Hey, every-one! My CDs are stacked in the case” thing doesn’t worry me to death with its unsafeness. WHAT IF THE DISC 2 BREAKS?! *faint*) and in my mind, the Ravelos always make me think… “Nightlife”. Or is it the other way around? Nightlife makes me think Ravelo?
    Yeah, I think Nightlife makes me think Ravelo. *nod* They should ditch the pair standing on the cover, and be all like “Simon Ravelo dancing, his hair swaying in the wind, with Lauren standing holding a baby with the green diamond on it instead of a record, and listening to HOT AND PHAT BEATS!”
    Yes, sir. So, right! My vote is on “Ravelos”. ^^;

  4. Blu – Open For Business has only one disc. :D I heart it even more for that. Yay one discness goodness!
    Ravelos vs DeGroffs.. Uh.. *whimpers* I want both! Q.Q I guess the choice’s been made, though. Your audience has spoken, Jenba ma’am. :D Yay Misty update! I can’t wait for the OFB Legacy Challenge to get written up, are you gonna give it a try? Pinstar’s mentioned a mini challenge.. You can see it here: http://tinyurl.com/fvatr

  5. Raveloooos, Ravelooooooos *cheeer* – is that clear, or do you need more :)
    Btw. – my site has been taken down, because the provider couldn’t cope with technical problems. I’m glad that I was just taking a break anyway, so I wasn’t mad about it. And I’m playing my sims gradually and a little, thinking about doing a new challenge, but a new blog won’t be here that soon I fear. Still, I do hope to read some more about those cool Ravelo Girls soon ;) Til then!

  6. Ravelos! And Shanleys! I love them Shanleys. XD

    My legacy families are semi on hold ’til OFB rules come out (although I did rebuild the Everson house). I’m thinking I’ll post an update sometime this weekend, though, of just some pictures I’ve taken of some of my satellite families doing OFB stuffs. Maybe. If I can find the time to be un-lazy.

  7. Am I the only selfish person who wants the Annabel Island update? Yes. Haha. I can’t help it. Its just that I would rather have the drama of the Annabel Island update than the nice cheery update of the Ravelos. *sigh* I guess my one vote doesnt matter though, so I can live with the Ravelos. You always make everything interesting anyway.

  8. mm I’d got for Annabel Island simply because it’s set in a totally different place and the story line is really intriguing! Though the Ravelos are also interesting but my vote still goes with Annabel Island :)

    p.s. I’ll finally be updating my Sayuki legacy today, so should be a long update I think. :)

  9. The Ravelos, of course! I adore that family!

    Btw, I have a question about Open for Business…how do you get Servo the Robot and how do you make kites? I figured at the toy station, but people only make Sir Bricks a Lot. -shrugs- I’d appreciate the help!

  10. Hi Surely, if you have a Sim with a Silver badge in Toymaking, they can make kites at the toy workbench. I’m not sure about Servo, but I’m guessing your Sim can make that at the robotics station once they have a Gold badge. I’ve been playing a brother and sister who started a toy shop, and it took them 14 days to start getting positive cash flow! And I still haven’t figured out how to use the Sales socials without making the customers angry — although having a higher Charisma seems to help. My dynamic duo just moved in a guy who has a Silver badge in Robotics, so we’ll see if they can build a Servo soon…but it’s hard keeping their aspiration meter anything above a smidge of green. Challenging game!

  11. Thank you so very much, Jen. Indeed it is challenging…I have the second child of six children (of my legacy family) owning her very own bookstore. I figured that since she’s in college, once she decides to start a family, she can pass along the business to her younger siblings. But yes…it’s extremely hard especially when your sim is in college. Although she’s a junior, it seems like it’s taking forever. But thank you for the info…good luck with your business!

  12. The only Sale socials I’ve found that works nine out of ten times is the Dazzle one. On the other hand, even a failed Sale gives your seller a sales perk. A combo I did was to get on good footing with the customer with a character that had maxed outgoing *and* maxed charisma before I tried the Basic Sell.
    Whatever you do, avoid the Hard Sell unless you’re really low on cash! It takes away from the customer’s loyalty. o.o
    I’ve also come to the conclusion that the Selling I’m going to be doing will be with my own Sims. The NPC/Townie ones just do the hard sell too often and always fail to boot. :/

  13. Wow, I haven’t even seen any Sales socials aside from “Basic Sell”. I’m slowly getting that one to work. I did hire someone for a bit and had them do Sales — for awhile they seemed to win over customers as often as they ticked them off. Then they started to tick them off more often, so I had to fire them. Business is tough!
