Belldon

Over on SimScribes, Yicke asked if anyone would like to make her some Victorian houses, and Bitsy seconded the request, so I thought I’d create one and make it available for upload. I didn’t want to redistribute any custom content, so I used Maxis-only items. I’ve checked the lot with the Sims 2 Clean Installer, so it should be completely clean, containing no hacks or custom objects. It is fully furnished, and though you may see a Victorian lady in the pictures, she does not come with the house. :-)

The lot is available for download from the Sims 2 Exchange:

Download Belldon

Bedrooms: 4 (two with double beds, one with two singles, and one with one single)
Bathrooms: 4
Cost: §158,272.

NOTE: Even though it says it requires Nightlife, I tried to keep any Nightlife objects/wallpapers/floors out of the house, so that those without Nightlife could use it. It does require University, however. Hopefully you won’t have any trouble with it!

Here are some more preview pics of the house:

If you want to make this house look more Victorian, I highly recommend the following downloads:

Brass beds and antique lamp by raquelcesar
Paintings and antique lamp recolors from Cindy’s Sims 2
Wonderful Victorian wallpapers from VillaSims (here and here), Sunni Sims, and Lyran
Oriental rugs from Aussie Topenders (make sure you download Echo’s rug mesh)

Those are the essentials for me, but there’s a ton of great stuff out there. You can find more links on my Timely Finds page.

Well, I’m off to work on the next Ravelo update. Happy Simming!

  1. Great house and I am sure that you are proud of this house. It is very beautifully made and I could onlyy make something eight tenths of a tenth of a hundredth that great…Its a shame. I scrolled down and looked at something else, i cant remember now, and i came back and i saw the kitchen and im thinking, wait, something isnt right here, then i read the caption and saw that the problem was that the kitchen was modern and the house was Vitcorian. The kitchen is beautiful nevertheless..hey you never know..maybe they had gas stoves in those days.

  2. This is stunning Jen, I’m amazed you built this without any downloads what-so-ever. I’ll definitely download. :D Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

  3. It just occurred to me that the 5X3 lot this house is sitting on might be one of the new Nightlife lot sizes. I can’t remember if that size was available before or not, and I can’t find anything when I do a search. Do you guys know? And if it is a new size, does that mean people without Nightlife won’t be able to use it? Let me know if you have any trouble with it.

  4. Hiya Jen. Very beautiful! You have such a great attention to detail, it is captivating. The 5×3 lot, btw, is not from Nightlife, so people should be able to use it safely even without the second Expansion Pack.
Eva, I saw somewhere in the comments here that you are from Gemany. I am too, just wanted to say hi. I did so in an older thread, but I guess it isn’t frequented any more ;o)
Greetings to everybody else, and again, Jen, as I posted before in the old thread, thank you for inspiring me and bringing all of us so many wonderful and intricate stories!

  5. Hi Christoph, thanks so much for your comment and the answer to my question about the 5X3 lot! I’m relieved to hear that. I did see your comment in the other thread, too, and meant to respond, as you were so very kind, but I never got around to it. My apologies. What I wanted to say was thank you, and I hope you keep enjoying my blog. I clicked on your link, but it took me to a Page Not Found message, unfortunately! I’d love to visit your site if it’s up and running.

Eva has a site, too, if you want to stop by there and say hi to her — she’s over at Baltimore Bay Sims, and it’s a wonderful site. :-)

  6. Hey Jen, I was just wandering around the internet looking for some sims 2 stuff and I found this great site. I don’t know if you’ve seen it before but I thought you’d like it because it has tons of Victorian walls and floors and all sorts of things.

http://www.marinasims.net/index.html Some other people reading this might find it interesting too. :D I hope so. I know I did.

  7. Yes, she has some great stuff! I’ve downloaded all her new Victorian items but haven’t had a chance to use them yet. I love that she made some windows — I haven’t been able to find those kind of windows anywhere else! Thanks for reminding me, Amanda — I’m going to add her link to my Timely Finds page.

  8. Unfortunately Christoph, I am not the Eva from Germany, but Eva M. is. She has this great blog going on..as Jen stated before. I am sure she would like it if you stopped by.

  9. You know, if you love making houses so much maybe should do it and post it up for download more often.
When if I ever get sims2 to work, I’d so download one or two. o.o!

  10. You needn’t apologize, Jen, though it is of course accepted :o)

The link I put in was my eMail address, but I guess it didn’t work as intended. My website is not yet “up” — well I have a pre-created design running, but I am not comfortable with it. As I am quite versed with webdesign, I want to make my own. Unfortunately, work and other pusuits provide me with little time to really delve into it. But I have begun to start a new Legacy, the extreme one, with a very special someone… I will divulge his name, but nothing more until I have something to show for: Phileas Pickwick.

I’ll let you know as soon as I get some time to really make it my own site, and by then I will probably have some posts on good old Phileas.

Eva: Thanks, never noticed that there was an “M” after the name ;o) I’ll have a look and see if I can send some greetings that way. She writes really good English, and that is hard to find here in Germany :o)
