Camp Simon

Once the party was over, Simon relaxed on his bed and planned his next move. He was so happy with his life at that moment that not even the flies buzzing over the pizza box bothered him.

Simon relaxes
“Ah, this is the life.”

A few days and a few job promotions later, Simon decided it was time to put his plan into action. He was starting to like this earning lots of money thing…but only a little bit.

Promotion!
“I could do without this lame suit and tie, though.”

The first thing Simon bought was a car. It looked pretty funny sitting on his concrete slab next to an outhouse and a bunch of furniture, but at least he wouldn’t have to take the taxi or the carpool anymore. And now he could drive right over to Lauren’s and pick her up for dinner (after making a little detour to the jewelry shop).

Simon gets into his car
“I love my crappy car.”

They had dinner at — where else? — the One-Twenty-Five Cafe, where they had first met. Broadway Brandi served them their food — Chili Con Carne for Lauren and Baked Alaska for Simon (he was too excited to eat a proper meal and went straight for the dessert). Lauren seemed more interested in Simon (and Simon’s food) than in her chili.

Simon feeds her a bite
“Mmmmm…”

Simon couldn’t stand it any longer. Even though they weren’t done eating, he just had to ask her! The little velvet box was burning a hole in the pocket of his jacket. With a boyish smile he withdrew it and placed it on the table in front of Lauren.

Simon puts the box on the table
Surprise!
Lauren looks at the ring

Within a day they had built a little cottage on the concrete slab, and in the dining room of their new home, Lauren Platz became Lauren Ravelo.

They get married
“I got you the prettiest ring I could find.”

Simon was ecstatic to be living in a house, and with his beautiful wife. Camp Simon would always be a fond memory, but now he could really enjoy life to the fullest. 2 dream dates down, 48 more to go!

  1. Wow, it looks like Lauren is going to be wooed throughout life. Starting off a challenge like this with a Pleasure Sim must have been tough. This is a great start, and I am really looking forward to reading more on this family!

  2. lol, that was really cool. THis challenege seems pretty interesting, maybe I’ll check it out after my finals. also I didn’t know we could live in the city! anyhow look forward to more :)

  3. How cool are those photos! Wow…I’m speechless. I really like this new sim and his love interest, they are both really good looking but in an interesting way. I can not wait to play NightLife! Anyway, this looks like a really great challange, I hope you are having fun.

  4. A LEGACY CHALLENGE – yeeeeeeeey :) – finally, I’m soo glad!! Great Jen, now believe me I’ll be coming here every day to see how far you’ve done *lol*. Just that I don’t really get all these Nightlife benefits – so he is a Pleasure sim? A new aspiration, I see! And Lauren is any townie, and now they’ve married but still he wants to have dream dates with her? Bit confusing ;) – You know, I’m not able to play nightlife because my pc is so deadly slow, I’ll just keep going with the very ordinary legacy challenge ;) – thanks for your nice comments over at my blog, too, they always make me feel a little proud :)! Keep going! Oh, and happy birthday, Mt. Geneva! I couldN’t post on the other entry, don’t ask me why, but I wanted to say that these pictures were gorgeous and I really really loved your Shanleys (how often did I tell you that now ;)? Good work!

  5. Great sence of humour Jen!!!
    And great update!!
I can´t wait to read more about your new legacy!!!

  6. Terrific start to your new legacy family! I love the captions you added to each of the pictures; it really helped give some insight into the characters. I, like everyone else, will be waiting for the next update.

  7. hardy har har. I thought the captions for the pictures were so funny, that I kept reading them to my husband, and then my kids, and then my mom who came to visit. So funny. Yay!

  8. Thanks for the comments, everyone! My lovely sister Alex helped me with some of the captions, so she gets some credit, and thanks to PRMami and Audrey for their inspiring first entries into the Nightlife Legacy Challenge, which made me want to try it myself. It’ll be fun going through another challenge with you guys. :-)

Eva M – Yep, Simon is a Pleasure Sim! He was surprisingly easy to handle — he never went below green in aspiration points. He just wanted to date and dine out a lot. :-) Sorry for confusion about the 50 Dream Dates — that’s his Lifetime Want, and I doubt I’ll reach 50 dates, but it’s fun to try. It doesn’t matter who the dream dates are with, so I figure it’ll be Lauren for every date. They can have dates at home, and all it takes to get a dream date (on the date-o-meter) is some kissing, hugging, and maybe woohoo, so if they have a date every day I might be able to reach 50 before Simon passes away. We’ll see. Maybe next update I’ll include a little more commentary to explain things for those who don’t have Nightlife. Besides, part of the fun of the original Legacy Challenge was discovering new things about the Sims and sharing them with everyone — and learning from others in return. It’d be cool to do that with Nightlife, too. Thanks for your feedback, Eva!

  9. Ooooh yay a new legacy family to read!!! I just started a new nightlife legacy family too recently aswell, and plan to post it on my blog at some point. Im a wimp though, so I still used a 5×5 lot ;) Good luck with your legacy, cant wait to read more!!

And if you are very persistent, maybe you can reach 30 generations on this one! Even more than the Shanleys!!

    Kath

  10. Yay Jen! I’m so glad you’re back! I love the start of this challenge! But I am not even going to go see what the rules and basics of this challenge are. I’ll just want to start it…and i’ve got enough challenges at the moment! But I love your family so far, and can’t wait to read for generations to come!

  11. Oooh!
.. Okay, I’ll have to join in on this one. :D
Awesome entry as always! And I /really/ loved the pictures, you got some really nifty angles!

  12. Haha I loved this update. I want nightlife :( but that is the least of my troubles right now..so much homework i barely have time to blink. This will be very interesting I can tell, and your pictures are wonderful. Whoa this is fun haha. A lot of people seem to be having trouble with burglers lately, mean burglers. I gues this challenge really is xtreme.

  13. Ah Jen! This was great and starting this new challenge, doesn’t it get you excited and rev’d up to keep on playing?

Loved the Village People impromtu very funny gosh I remember having a crush over the indian garb when I was a wee one …. little did I know back then it was a guys only club

Well I’m having loads of fun with my Domino, and I’m now in the process of writting her update as soon as my little one stops bugging me for chocolate milk …ah kids gotta love ’em :D

  14. Belated congratulations on a one-year anniversary! I’m meaning to make something, so don’t be surprised if an e-mail with an attatchment shows up. Though, don’t forget to scan it. It might be suspicious.
    Anyway, on to onto!
XD “So manly and awesome”, I liked that part. Also “he claimed a chunk of cement”. Makes me think of some astronauts walking up, and doing a little dance of “woohoo, I claim the moon! To live on! In a cheap bed! Woot!”

From picture 5, I have determined Mrs. Crumplebottom is a vampire. From space. Since the concrete is the moon, and everything. Right.
    Right!

He needn’t worry where he lost his clothes! I’m sure someone just stole them from him. And promptly put them in his… pocket. His trunks-pocket.
    It’s almost invisible?
XD I like so many of the captions, but so far (I’m writing the comment as I read the entry. ^^; ) the one about wanting to sweep a woman off her feet “like… 50” times was the best.
XD Oh, dear, scratch that. Cutting to the chase! Perfect! Go, Simon, go!

    Man. Easels are so sporking helpful in Challenges. I love them to death. Especially with children! Man, those things spend their spare time painting, and by the time they’re teens, they’re selling masterpieces every other day. That’s, what, $550+? … But, that’s rambling. >_>;

Aw, man. Why is it that burglars usually only come near the beginning, just when things are about to take off? They never seem to come by the time the Sims have a mansion, and simoleans galore…
But, you know, in the “Ha-HA!” picture, it looks like Ramin won so much, he got the burglar to beat himself up!
    So much victory!

XD Man, I love their little sidewalk dance. I never knew that in Nightlife, Sims could live in the city. You know, University didn’t really pique my interest, but the more I see of NL, the more I go like “oh, cooool”, and want to get it on e-bay, or somewhere they’re selling it for less than $30. It may look neat, but not $30 neat.

Woooaah! Simon moves FAST. Quite the lady’s man. I mean, he’s getting fans in the comments, and got married to a girl he knew for two or three days. He’s good.

Anyway, I’m really liking your new Challenge’s story. :D Yay~! (Also, I didn’t get a chance to mention it earlier in the comment, but I thought it was neat, how they both have the same glasses. Nifty coincidence. Maybe that’s part of what he saw in her. I wonder if their kids will be born with those glasses?)
