Two New Shanleys

In the last Legacy Challenge update, my G6 heir, Vesta, married Kenneth the grocery delivery guy. After the honeymoon, woohoo ensued, and Shanley Manor was finally graced with the birth of Generation 7 when little Tebbany was born. Meanwhile all of the Romance Sims in the house were still romancin’. One in particular, the widow Marie, was nearing the last days of her life and longed for someone with whom she could spend her remaining time on earth.

Actually, she just wanted to flirt with her many boyfriends, but I knew what was best for her. I knew she really needed to settle down with one special man. And that man was Pao Mellon.

Why Pao? Well, he was one of her original boyfriends from way back when she first started cheating on her dearly departed husband Patrick. And…well, this is the main reason — he’s a Popularity Sim. There’s more than one way to skin a cat, or in this case, more than one way to get that durned platinum Popularity gravestone. And I figured this would be the easiest way.

So, Marie proposed to Pao, and he accepted. It was kind of weird to think I was marrying two NPCs to each other, though I’m not sure WHY it was weird. It actually would be kind of fun, I think, to try to get rid of townies by moving them in and pairing them up with each other. You could have almost a whole neighborhood descended from townies! You know, before the Legacy Challenge I would have thought that was a horrible idea (I like to make my own Sims), but some of these NPCs have really grown on me. Plus it’s just cool to see what mysterious DNA they might have lurking within them.

Sorry, went off on a tangent there. Here’s Marie proposing to Pao:

Marie proposes to Pao

Marie and Pao decided to have a quiet little wedding ceremony by the pool instead of in the family chapel where Marie had married Patrick. I gave Pao a balding head to make him look a little older. It’s too bad Marie and Pao can’t have babies; they’d probably look really cool.

The wedding

They sealed their marriage vows with a kiss. I got them engaged and married so quickly that Marie didn’t have a chance to Fear either event, but she still wants to flirt with other guys, so I’m guessing the marriage hasn’t changed her view of things.

The other Shanleys in the house didn’t seem to notice Marie’s marriage to Pao. They just went about their business as usual. Now a full-fledged Shanley, Kenneth balked when I asked him to mop up the messes he kept making in the bathroom. I didn’t realize how lucky I had been for the first 6 generations to have all Neat Sims. Man, those sloppy ones are a pain!

Kenneth standing in a puddle

I decided it was time for Kenneth and Vesta to produce another heir, so I had Vesta take a break from watching Tebbany and go upstairs for some wooing and hooing. Inspired by Heidi, I took a woohoo action shot!

Vesta and Kenneth woohoo

While Vesta and Ken were getting busy upstairs, Stefaan found himself in charge of the little one. He was disgusted, to say the least, when said little one spewed blue spit-up all over him.

Finally Tebbany became a toddler! Here she is with her dad:

Tebbany and Kenneth

I was a little disappointed in her stats — she has a 1 Neatness like her dad, and an Active score of 2. So she’s very sloppy and very lazy! However she’s also very Outgoing (9), extremely Playful (10) and quite Nice (7), for a grand total of 29 personality points. I think she’ll be pretty fun.

So I had 7 people in the house at this point, and things were starting to get crazy again. It takes way too long to micromanage everyone, so I’ve been letting most of them do their own thing. Tristan still prefers painting to playing piano, but more often he spends his time watching TV. I micromanaged Vesta taking care of Tebbany, but sometimes the other Sims would pitch in. Anyway, I was shocked when I managed to get everyone together for breakfast (minus Tebby, who was sleeping soundly in her crib).

  1. I am starting to become obsessed with your blog. Imagine my joy when I came back from my after-school drama lessons, to find another entry! I was ecstatic. Well, I’m off to pack now for a long weekend at a mate’s property. Happy Simming to you too, Jen! From Dustyn.

  2. I loved how Tristan wanted to change into pajamas. I’ve never seen that before, either. :-) Great update, as usual. Thankfully everything’s going good for you so far. *Knocks on Wood* I can’t wait to see more of the Shanleys! Until then!

  3. So it isn’ta bug after all! I thought when sims drink Elixar when they’re in green it means they’ll definately age, but it’s actually a bit random aswell. Like drinking Elixar in Green means sims will either age or gain days right?

It’s funny how sims look up sometimes when they dont’ want to do something or after “big events” like they’re looking up to a sim god or something.

  4. I just love those schoolbus pictures, I wanted to steal some from Amanda also but I couldn’t because I never seem to know when the kids go to school because I’m too busy managing everyone else! Your picture of Tebbany is beautiful, though. I love your updates, they just get better and better! ^^

  5. I was right about Tebby’s eyebrows! They really are caterpillars :)
I love Cort’s green eyes, and I can’t wait to see them all grow up!
What’s happening over at the late Uncle Liam’s? Sorry, they seemed so amusing over there I like reading about them.
    Bye!
    ;)

  6. Yay! I’m in your blog! *dances around* Thanks Jen.

Wow, Tebbany is such a cute little girl I really think she is the cutest little girl I’ve seen yet. I love the hair cut on her. I can’t wait to see her all grown up.

  7. Janice – You’re right, if they drink the Elixir while in green they have a 50% chance of losing life instead of gaining it. I think the percentage goes up when they’re in the red, but I’m not sure.

E-Liz – Thanks for asking about Uncle Liam’s house — I kinda miss it! I hope once I’m finished with the challenge I can get back to them, although I’ll probably age them rather quickly to catch them up with the main house. One of them will need to get married and have babies in order for anyone to still be alive in Liam’s house when my G10 heir is born at the main house. I’m not sure who that’ll be yet! Maybe you guys can help me decide. :-)
