The Initiation of Kenneth

Kenneth runs in front of the limo
*screeeeeeech*

The car came to a halt just in time. Kenneth stopped and shielded his eyes from the headlights as Vesta came running up. He’d almost been hit! When Kenneth saw that the car was their honeymoon limousine, he felt horribly guilty for having doubts. He scooped Vesta up into his arms and carried her into the limo, relieved to finally be alone with her.

After their brief honeymoon trip to a bowling alley, the couple returned refreshed and ready to make some babies. After all, Vesta explained, it was a Shanley tradition to try for an heir the day (or night) after the wedding.

Vesta and Kenneth relax on the bed
“First we kiss a little. Then we jump into the air while pulling the covers over our heads and roll around making weird animal sounds. Sound good?”

They had to try it a few times before they got it right. They spent the rest of the day just lounging around the house. Kenneth looked for a job on the internet and found a position as a Pickpocket. He didn’t know what it entailed, exactly, but it sounded interesting! That night he was welcomed to the family by the ghost of Vesta’s father, Patrick. He was a true Shanley now!

Patrick scares Kenneth
“Be good to my daughter or you’ll PAY!”

Meanwhile Stefaan had been working hard at hardly working and made it to the top of his career. He was now a Professional Party Guest! He practiced his partying skills by bringing Jan Tellerman home and flirting with her.

Stefaan is promoted
“It’s official: Hippest Shanley Ever.”

Tristan tried to emulate his uncle by flirting with poor Daria Shack, the woman who had lost many aspiration points to Robi’s SimVac.

Tristan kisses the arm of Daria
“Mm, you smell like fried mozzarella sticks.”

Not long after the wedding, Vesta found she was pregnant! She didn’t throw up, but she was afflicted with horrible nausea, and the family ghosts kept popping out and scaring her, so she could never get enough rest. She couldn’t wait to just have her baby! She read some books on pregnancy while her uncle Stefaan read up on aliens.

(I took this picture because Stefaan autonomously picked up that magazine and started reading it. I had never seen a Sim do that before. Usually they just read a book.)

Vesta and Stefaan read
“Oh my gosh, it says labor is the most horrible pain a person will ever experience. Dad’s lucky he never got abducted!”

When those horrible labor pains finally arrived, Kenneth was home to witness it. He was excited for his first child to be born, but did Vesta have to go through so much agony?

Kenneth watches Vesta go into labor
“Those screams are a good thing, right?”

Vesta’s shrieks of anguish eventually gave way to coos of gladness as she held her baby girl in her arms. Her mother, who had just returned from work as a Celebrity Chef, thanked the SimGods for the birth her grandchild. Vesta and Kenneth named their child Tebbany (courtesy of Dustyn).

Vesta holds her new baby
“I shall call you Tebby, and you shall be my Tebby.”

So there we go, generation 7 is here! She has dark hair (brown, I think) like her father and blue eyes like her mother. It remains to be seen whether or not she’ll be cute — sometimes two of the nicest-looking Sims can have the weirdest-looking offspring. I apologize for slipping into story mode — I hope it wasn’t too confusing. It satisfied my storytelling urge a little bit. ;-) Well, I’m off to play some more — time to grow Tebbany to a toddler!

Oh, and Happy Valentine’s Day!

  1. YAY! I got a sim with my favorite name! Wehoo! Thank you so much! Anyway, that was a lovely, unexpected update! Thanks! I am about to go into a downloading frenzy via a friend and you hitched up my happiness level to plus ten!~ hehe. I am loving your captions btw! Can you suggest some extra fab downloads? CYA from Dustyn. xo :)

  2. Jen, i love how you’re so consistant with your stories. That’s wonderful! We need to learn from you ^_^ I just get lazy with all the work and everything. I loved this update. I take a bunch of pictures also, sometimes I just don’t use all of them. I’m glad YOU do, though. I just love reading about your family!

Your story-mode is great! Sometimes we all need a while from the writer’s point of view and go into the Sim’s world, don’t we? ;) I love that last caption, Finding Nemo is awesome! Great job, I can’t wait for the toddler stage posted in your next post! :D

  3. Tebbany is such an awesome name. I can’t wait to see her as a toddler! Good job, Jen – as always! ;-) Like Leslie said, it’s good to have a different point of view sometimes. Being an avid writer myself, I sometimes find myself writing in story mode about the Palomas. I’m actually thinking about making stories with my sims, once I get past worrying that everyone won’t like my storytelling skills, of course. ;-) Anyhoo, good job. I can’t wait to see your next post!

  4. Great job! Wow you are just flying through the challenge. I like that you slipped some storytelling in this update. I remember reading your first posts and they were all stories and they were all very interesting so I’m glad I got a little taste of it again. :)

  5. Hi Jen, came over from the link you left in my comments. So glad i did, I love your legacy blog, the captions for the photo’s are just superb. I’ll be reading this one often. Hugs, Chuckles.

  6. Hi, Jen! I got your comments in my blog and came to check your out. Been reading some of the back entries as well as the newer ones. Good stuff! Also, I LOVE your Shanley’s house! It’s so cool to look at.

  7. Hi Jen. Great update. Your storytelling did go well with the pic. I wonder if Stefaan was to be abducted by aliens and have an alien baby does that count on your legacy or does it have to be your heir who has the alien baby?
Anyhoo … i love your captions and pic… can’t wait to see the next one.

  8. Awwwww…Tebby is too cute. My legacy sim “Jasmine” is currently pregnant too. I am dying to see what the 3rd gen heir will look like. Great picture, by the way. Have a great day! :)

  9. Hey, I’ve got the Prima guide too! I take it on holiday so if I can’t play the Sims, I read about them.
Tebbany is a gorgeous name, and his eyebrows are so cute! Like those hairy caterpillars!
Okay, I’ll keep an eye out for more stories! Happy Valentines Day, guys!

  10. Dustyn – Glad you enjoyed the update! I love the name Tebbany and was happy to use it. As for download suggestions, there are a ton of links in my sidebar. Unpretty and ChicChica have my favorite ‘glamourous’ clothes, Parsimonious has great colorful clothing for all ages, and Simulated Living (which is brand new) has some good ‘preppy’ stuff. As for objects and stuff, oy…so much out there! I haven’t been downloading as much of that stuff because I’m waiting for stuff to be fixed so its compatible with the expansion. Anyway, have fun with your downloading frenzy! :-)

Mary – For Legacy Challenge scoring, any alien born on the lot counts for a point, it doesn’t have to be descended from (or even related to) the heir. I was thinking about trying to get Tristan abducted, actually, since Stefaan is close to elder!

Thanks to everyone else for the nice comments!!
