Shanley Manor for Download

Hey folks, I finally put Shanley Manor up for download from the Sims 2 Exchange. There are two versions — one is fully furnished and contains quite a bit of custom content — mostly recolors, but also some wallpaper and ground textures. I tried to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer to remove the custom content, but I couldn’t get it to work properly. So I apologize for that! If you have the Clean Installer and know how to use it, you can (I believe) remove the custom content from my lots before you install them.

The second version of the lot is unfurnished. It has much less custom content and is one-tenth the size of the furnished lot. Here are link to the lots on the exchange:

Shanley Manor – Fully Furnished (40.09 MB)

Shanley Manor – Unfurnished (4.77 MB)

By the way, both lots are from the Shanley Manor of a few weeks ago, around the time I posted the Tour of Shanley Manor, so they don’t have my recent redecorating or the new lap pool. Enjoy!

UPDATE: I forgot I had taken a picture of the kitchen in the unfurnished version just because it was so weird to see the house virtually empty. I’m used to it being a hub of activity, with Sims buzzing to and fro (not to mention the flies on the plates). You can also see the faintly green glowing residue left over from a deleted thinking cap. Heh. Anyway, just thought I would share the pic — you can also see that I left the counters and appliances in the kitchen.

  1. Hi Jen. I wish I could download it but I don’t have the game or my own personal computer (computer belongs to my husband aunt). I was wonder what kind of custom stuff do you have on it?
    Just thought I would ask.
I’m sure everyone who can download will in a heart beat.
    *so jealous! :( **
Thanks for sharing and I can’t wait to the next legacy challenge.

  2. Hi Mary, I wish you could download it, too. :-/ Any chance you might be getting your own computer in the near future?

As for custom stuff, it’s mostly recolors of some furniture and decor as well as some wallpapers and floors. Oh, and the snow ground covers are included even though I didn’t have any snow on the lot when I packaged it! There aren’t any new meshes or hacked objects or anything like that.

I’m working on an update, so come back soon! :-)

  3. I probably won’t get one until we get a house of our own which won’t be till the ending of the year… so I will constantly whine and beg for the game. Jen you are so lucky to be able to play the game… seriously thanks for sharing it’s the closes thing to playing. I am really going to be jealous when the expansion pack comes out. **sighs**
Oh well the house is a little more important so for now I will have to wait. So play alot and have fun for me.. kay.

  4. Thanks Jen! This house is so neat. You put so much time into it! I’m sure everyone is going to have fun with it. I know I will! Thanks for putting it up on the Exchange, which you didn’t have to do, but because you’re so nice…;-) I can’t wait for your next update!

  5. That’s great! The Shanley Manor looks wonderful! I love what you did with the house. I especially love the front view, you did a great job with that!

  6. I’ve never used the Clean Installer to repackage lots yet. I’ve never experimented with any of my packaged lots. What inflates the lot size is definitely the recolors. For some reason, the Maxis packaging utility grabs them all, if you use them in the house. It’s really stupid, if you ask me. If I have time, I’ll try to find out more information about repackaging lots.
