Those Sticky Burrs
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I had hoped to post a Burr update before the weekend, but they’re giving me a bit of trouble (which may or may not be related to University being a pain in the kiester).
So…I’m going to shift gears slightly and tonight give you Part I of the introduction to my Shady Bluff stories. Shady Bluff is the new ‘hood I’ve been working on feverishly for a few weeks now, and it’s a bit different from my usual stuff. I hope you’ll enjoy it. And I will get back to the Burrs very soon — I’m not abandoning them by any means.
Thanks for continuing to read my silly blog, and please do stay tuned…
Some Sims Have No Taste
Just a random snapshot from gameplay:
It’s sad. So very sad.
Fall Snapshot Contest!
Over at the SimScribes forum, we’re having a picture-taking contest. The basic idea is to take a snapshot of your Sims doing some fall-related activity such as celebrating Halloween or playing in the autumn leaves. The deadline is November 8th, after which we’ll take a poll to decide the winner. If that sounds like fun to you, then run, do not walk, over to SimScribes and check out the “Fall Snapshot Contest” thread under “Contests & Challenges”. I look forward to seeing you over there!
Maude’s Scavenger Hunt: Winners Announced!
(UPDATE: I’ve added the winners’ links to their pictures at the end of this post. Enjoy!)
Good evening, dears! Maude here with a very special announcement. First off, I want to thank those of you who entered the Scavenger Hunt competition and sent me scurrying off to view all of those lovely and highly amusing pictures. What a wonderful way to pass the time! You certainly killed my boredom, and for that, I am extremely grateful.
And now, for the competition part, I’ve drawn two names out of my somewhat tattered cloche hat…would you like to know who they are? Is the suspense driving you mad? Not yet? Shall I wait a few minutes, then? Oh, very well then, I’ll tell you now… (but you must click on the link below; I’m not going to make it THAT easy!)
Release the Hounds!
Only a couple of weeks until the release of Pets! Excitement abounds. After perusing the chat transcript from the official site, I pulled out a few highlights. You guys have probably seen all this shtuff already, but much of it is new to me because I haven’t been following it that closely. Here we go…
Hoorah
Hey everyone. As you’ve no doubt noticed, I’ve changed my layout, and more importantly, I have a shiny new banner! A million thank yous to the awesomely talented Kay for creating Mt. Geneva’s new topper.
I’m still tweaking the new layout a bit, so things might look wonky until I get it all sorted out.
Burr Legacy update coming soon! And for those of you who aren’t into the Victorian thing, take heart — they’re approaching the Edwardian age, and in a couple of generations, they’ll be in the thick of the 1920s, with gangsters and flappers and all that good stuff. And if you just plain hate the historical theme, then keep checking back anyway, because I’m also working on a new modern neighborhood, and I’ll start posting its tales very soon.
Happy Simming!
Contest: Maude’s Scavenger Hunt
Good morning, dears! It’s Maude Berthiaume here. Are you surprised to see me? Not that you can see me, mind you, as I’m a bit ghostly (and particularly translucent at the moment) but are you surprised to hear from me, at least? I must say I’m a bit surprised myself. I thought good ol’ Maude was dead a second time what with Mt. Geneva going belly up and leaving poor me to float in the ether, wondering if I’d ever find another home. But I seem to have found a nice shady place to rest, and as long as no hooligans show up to ruffle the scene, I think I’ll be quite happy here.
But enough of that! I have a very important announcement to impart to you, dear readers. If you hadn’t noticed (which you probably hadn’t, being busy little bees yourselves), this week marks the two-year anniversary of Greetings from Mt. Geneva! And my, how it has changed in that time. It used to be just me blathering away about the Dobbinses and the Kilmans and whatnot (excuse me while I heave a sigh for dear Joey Kilman – I must confess I had a wee bit of a crush on the fellow) and now there are legacies here and there and thither and yon, and not a trace of the old denizens. But while there’s still a Maude, there will still be a Mt. Geneva, if only in this spectral, unbeating heart of mine.
