Finally!

Generation 6 is finally here! Marie gave birth to a boy named Tristan (suggested by Mary and Lani). He has his mother’s bright blue eyes and his father’s brown hair and skin tone. Well, he doesn’t have hair yet, but you know. Marie’s aspiration level was sufficiently high enough that she suffered no aspiration failure from having a baby, so that’s good.

“Who’s my little pumpkin smoochie woochie kins?”

Fiona desperately wanted a grandchild, so she shot straight into platinum when Tristan was born. It’s nice to have grandparents around to take up the slack so the parents can rest.

Grandma Fiona holds Tristan
“Looks like your mom has been up too late cruising chat rooms again…don’t worry — Grandma will take care of you.”

When Marie isn’t flirting with every guy on the block, she enjoys cleaning the house. She has a Neatness of 10, so whenever I tell her to clean something, she cheers. Most of the Shanleys have been neatniks to some degree (no sloppy Sims yet in this family), but Marie is the first to have her Neatness maxed.

“Bubble bubble, toilet trouble…”

My two romance Sims spend a lot of time socializing. Here Marie jokes with walkby Redmond Culley (a Sim I created) while Stefaan chats up townie Sophie Miguel. He brought her home from school and wanted to be friends with her, so I thought I would indulge him.

“Hey, Marie – let me take a picture of you with my new invisible camera! -click-”

I’m not sure if Stefaan will have his first kiss with Sophie since I have a grudge against her (she’s always insulting my poor Sims and making them cry). But if no one else pops into the picture, Sophie will do. I did have him flirt with her a little to get their relationship to go up faster. He’s a ladies’ man in training, after all!

Stefaan flirts with Sophie
“Mmm, even your neck sweat smells like roses…”

As a sidenote, I really really wish we could change the clothing on some of these teenage townies. Sophie has been wearing that same sweatsuit for years! I think I’ll send her to college with Meadow when the expansion comes out, just to get her out of my hair.

Time seemed to crawl by until we finally reached Tristan’s birthday. Marie helped him blow out the candles while everyone else was already in bed. You may have noticed that Patrick has been absent throughout this entire update — it’s because his job in the criminal underworld requires that he stay up all night and sleep all day, so he’s missing out on a lot of things. Once I get his career reward, I’m going to have him quit and either get another job or just stay home and build skills, because I need him to stargaze with the telescope every night. I want that alien child!

Marie blows out Tristan's candles
“Come on, honey, help Mommy blow out the candles! OK, fine, I’ll do it myself…”

Tristan grew into relatively cute toddler. He definitely has his mother’s eyes. I think he’s the first blue-eyed Shanley, actually. He’s also the first Virgo, I believe, and has only 25 personality points (darn). He has his mother’s Neatness score (10), a Shy/Outgoing score of 1 (!) which he got from who knows where, 4 in Lazy/Active, 6 in Playful/Serious, and 4 in Grouchy/Nice. The Shy score is weird because all of the Shanleys have been extremely outgoing so far. Marie has a Shy score of 4, so I guess that’s where it came from. My first shy Shanley! Hey, I think I smell a nickname coming on…

“Now I’m a big boy, wheeee!”

Robi wanted to potty train Tristan and teach him how to walk, so I had Fiona cook up some smart milk (Robi was only in green) and put Robi to work. The nanny cheered them on. She seriously stood there the whole time, just doing this back and forth shuffle thing, throwing in a thumbs up every so often. I think she was stuck.

“Nice job, Grandpa!”

I have no idea why Tristan has a smart milk bald spot in that picture, but it’s kind of funny.

Well, that’s it for tonight! I didn’t get to play as much as I wanted to because my computer crashed (the new video card is giving me some problems) and it took me an hour to boot everything back up again. I think my lot is just getting slow and buggy in general, so that doesn’t help much. I’m just praying I get to 10th gen now without any major setbacks.

  1. Tristan’s so cute! I love the picture of him growing up. He looks so small compared to Marie. Lol, but toddelrs usually do…Anyhoo, great update! Congrats on getting to the 6th generation finally!! I can’t believe I’m still only on my 4th…..

  2. Oh wow. Another update. I can’t believe you’re onto generation 6 already. Don’t Marie’s cheeks look bloated in the candles picture? Tristan’s smart milk bald spot is there coz he’s tilting his head back and the glow only covers his body aura, not the extra actions. It can look pretty funny sometimes. Keep on with the updates. (P.S.- Has anyone tried downloading from peggysims2.net ?? It’s got some pretty cool clothes!)
    Sincerely, Dustyn.

  3. Oh… How cute! I always love the “cake-scenes”, it’s uually very exciting to see how the kid will turn out to be. I’m just on G4 but my kids look very, very different from each other, finally… I tought Sim genetics were never gonna kick in. HAve to keep doing these multi-generation homes, even after the challenge ends. It gives nice challengens.

  4. Hooray G6! Hi Jen. I know you are glad Tristan is here. I’m guessing they will only have one child. I was thinking, maybe your memory can’t handle the new video card. Or maybe they are not don’t mesh well together. (Is that right… hmm i’m not a computer expert so I’m probably so so wrong lol) I think Tristan is so cute. I hope your computer doesn’t keep you from finishing your challege. Thanks for the update Jen. Can’t wait for you next one!
    Sim you later.

  5. oops double negative. lol man I need to proof read my comments better. I ment “maybe they don’t mesh well together”

  6. Hehehehe…Tristan is too cute. Man, I gotta get hoppin’ on my Legacy Family again. I shall play today. I am still working on first gen, the offspring are teens…OIY!

  7. Congrads on G6!!! Tristan is really cute^^ lol.. well all toddlers are but hey! I know what you mean about teen townies, I feel like I just need to kill them off, it’s always Sophie Miguel, Meddow or Ivy!

Anyways… I know what you mean about crashes/bugs etc. it’s really takes the fun out of the game… and takes forever to fix. I do hope you don’t meet any serious bugs that stop up from playing it all togethe cause that’d be really sad seeing as you’ve gone so far!

  8. Aw, Tristan is adorable! Congrats on getting so far! Only four more generations to go! I think I’m gonna miss the Shanley’s when it’s all over! Maybe you can continue playing them!! ^__^ -hint hint-

  9. Grats on G6! I like the name Tristan so much. I considered it for my rl son. Luckly by ex refused to even thing about it. LOL For my son’s sake, that was probably the right decision but for a Sim, the name is fabulous. *sigh* All these Sim babies make me want one in my household. They are too cute. Fun update.

  10. Oooh! How adorable! *wishes she was on 6G* Ah well…maybe in a month or so, lol. It took me like a month to get on 3G, so *darts an evil look at everyone* cheer me on! lol

Jen, if you would like to, oh, I don’t know, but up a link to like a page for me…I’d give you some pictures. You can put the captions or whatever if you’d like. Just a suggestion!

  11. I was gonna say your pictures looked extremely good this update, not that they don’t always, but I just noticed it extra today. I hope you get through the challenge without anything bad happening. Are you packaging your lot? Great update, I always enjoy reading them.

  12. Wow, I’ve never seen a sim cheer to clean a toilet. XD Sounds fun.
I’ve gotten the smartmilk baldspots before. It’s just kinda like “meh, whatever” to me by now.
I’m sure Patrick will get pregnant any day now! :D
That sounds kind of funny to me, but oh well! :D

  13. Blu – My very neat sims cheer (they do the arm pump) whenever I direct them to clean the toilet. However, my very messy sims (even though they have at least a 5 or 6 cleaning points) sulk when I direct them to clean anything. It’s very funny to see.
