In the meantime, the rest of the Shanleys were doing their thing. Patrick really really wanted to see the ghost of Devin, but Devin is a mostly benevolent ghost and doesn’t scare people very often. He also has a penchant for haunting the third floor apartment. I sent Patrick up there to see him, but he kept wanting to go back downstairs, so I ended up building a wall. After what seemed like forever, Devin finally scared Patrick, fulfilling Patrick’s power want.
“Nyah nyah, you have to marry a Romance Sim!”
Downstairs, everyone else was enjoying a good game of SSX3 in the TV room.
“Aw, Dad, you’re supposed to let ME win!”
Despite their video game rivalry, Robi and Stefaan have a good relationship. I caught Robi upstairs tucking him in later on that night. I just think it’s sweet when they do that.
“I’ll let you win next time, kiddo.”
As for Stefaan, he was doing well in school but wanted to get into private school. Now, I’ve been having problems with buggy headmasters since 4th gen, but I had read that if you wait awhile and try again, it might work out itself out. So I invited the headmaster over for dinner. Patrick was in the middle of skill-building, but everyone else was tired, so I sent him out to meet and greet.
“So, Mr. Ryan, we meet again. No disappearing after dinner this time, OK?”
While they were shmoozing, I had Marie prepare a salmon dinner, then head off to bed. Everyone else was sleeping (my Sims are on weird schedules), so Patrick was the only one around to have dinner with the headmaster.
“Wait, you work at a school, and you eat like THAT?”
After dinner and a tour, the headmaster slipped into the gallery room to pilfer some of the Shanley cash. They look so evil when they’re stealing!
“We wants it, preciousssss…”
Despite his thieving ways, I was happy that the headmaster stayed until his visit was officially over this time. Stefaan was accepted into private school! He went off to school in his uniform the next day.
“Eat your heart out, Dubrey…I’m definitely the coolest Shanley now!”
Well, that’s it for now. I took 28 pictures while playing this time around and decided to split it up into two posts, so look for Part 2 very soon!

Wow, what a great update! I love the picture of Marie rejecting Patrick. He’s like, “What? Does my breath stink or something?” Lol. Yeah, it’s great. Anyways…I agree with Dustyn. Your house is so awesome! I can’t wait to read your 2nd part! It’s so exciting!

Awww That picture of Robi tucking his kid in was so cute! I love your captions too they just seem to fit in really well and they are always so funny. lol I like the LOTR line best…nice work Jen, hopefully you will be ok with the Romance sim after awhile. Maybe she will even add some extra excitment. Oh and I totally know what you mean about the make-up thing. I don’t wear make-up either, I think I’m too lazy to learn about it, but I love playing around with the make-up on my sims. Can’t wait to read the next update. :)
Great update. I loved the make over she looks so cute now! The rejection was very funny too. It seems strange that the game would have a romance sim afraid of being proposed to and getting married. Hmmm.
Question: When you move NPCs into a household do they still go out to work?

Just wanted to say that ever since I discovered your sim blog it has inspired me to start my own legacy challenge and I’ve had this game since it came out in Sept.; was just never into the challenge until I saw how much fun you make your blog and challenge.
BTW where did you get the “Land’s End” clothes that you showed much earlier in your blog? I think it was maybe gen 2.

Keep up the good work! Pretty soon, Patrick will be a daddy and he gets to change diapers. I can’t wait! *bites nails until Patrick hears the cries of his newborn* I hope Marie will be up to the challenge. She better expect a big family, even if she is a romance sim. Are you planning to have her have an affair and perhaps a divorce? I don’t know, I was just wondering!

Stefaan looks like Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter in that uniform <3…thats the first time I’ve seen a boy sim go to private school, believe it or not.
And and, I coulda told you Marie was a romance sim. Actually, I couldn’t. But her counterpart (pizzaguy–Remington) was also a romance sim. Maybe npcs that share the same jobs are the same aspiration types 8)
