Too Many Kids

Anyway, I named him Stefaan (courtesy of Yannick). Amazingly, no one else was in the house when Fiona had her baby, so only the maid was there to witness the birth of Fiona’s 8th (10th if you count the adopted siblings) child. Finally, it’s over!

Fiona holds baby Stefaan

To celebrate, Fiona hired a nanny and made herself a nice bowl of chili con carne. Patrick sat with her and ate his hamburger. I snapped a picture because I rarely see my 4th gen heir and my 5th gen heir hanging out together.

Owen became an adult not long after that. I’ve stopped using birthday cakes because they’re a pain to clean up afterwards, so everyone just does the “Grow Up” self-interaction now (except for babies, of course!).

Owen grows up

Here’s Kay talking to Owen. I took this picture because it shows her with make-up. I love all of my Sims, but I’m still amazed at how nicely she turned out, considering she is descended from 4 generations of Service NPCs.

Maire and Liam discuss Kaylynn's passing

Over at Uncle Liam’s, we had a birthday, too. This time it was Aidan’s turn to grow into an adult. Unfortunately everyone was more interested in watching Rian descend the staircase.

I had Rian get a job in Politics. Here he returns from work after being promoted to City Council Member. Nice tie, Rian!

Rian is a working stiff

It was a sad day in the house when the Grim Reaper showed up to take good old Uncle Liam. He lived to be 82 days old, which I think is a record for my Sims so far. I’ll miss that old coot; I had grown really attached to him, which is odd, because I remember thinking Devin and Liam were incredibly dull Sims when they were kids. His girlfriend Pearline seemed to take it the hardest — I’ve never seen someone cry so much. I guess she’ll have to go back to her husband now!

Liam meets the Reaper

Thankfully Liam died in platinum, which made me feel a little better about his passing. At least he went happy! And he left a nice marble urn. Everyone mourned over it, which was a pitiful sight.

Mourning over Liam's urn

I moved the urn outside and gave it a nice resting place under a weeping willow. I also put a sculpture out there to increase the environment score near his marker. Poor Liam. I hope he’s in a better place now! At least until he starts scaring the bejeezus out of everyone in the house…

Uncle Liam's gravestone

By the way, since Liam lived a day longer than I expected, I forgot to check his relationship scores just before the reaper showed up. So I ended up looking at the kids’ scores with Liam and picking whoever had the highest one. It turned out to be Maire, so she has inherited Liam’s house. I wonder what she’ll do with it? I think some redecorating might be in order, just for kicks…

Next up, someone has to move out of Shanley Manor, but I’m not sure who it will be yet. Owen, Dubrey, and Heath for sure, but what about Kay and Stefaan? Which one would make the better spare heir? Kay has nice looks and is a Popularity Sim — an aspiration for which I still need a platinum gravestone. But Stefaan could be interesting, too, just because he’s different from all of the other kids. I guess I’ll wait and see how his personality turns out.

Here’s a list of Fiona’s 10 kids:

Maire – Adult, Knowledge (adopted sibling)
Aidan – Adult, Knowledge (adopted sibling)
Patrick – Adult, Knowledge
Owen – Adult, Knowledge
Zuzu – Teen, Popularity (Patrick’s twin — I’m really behind on that house)
Callum – Teen, Fortune
Kay – Teen, Popularity
Dubrey – Child
Heath – Child
Stefaan – Baby

Well, that’s it for tonight! I’m up way past my bedtime as usual. I might take a break from my Sims tomorrow to catch up on everyone else’s blogs — I’m way behind! Unless someone knows where I can find an Energizer machine…

  1. Yay! I’m the first to comment! Hope you find an Energizer soon, it sounds like you’re gonna simbust! lol. I love your updates and can’t wait until the next one! (Oh goodness I’m greedy today!) Sincerely, Dustyn.

  2. Just take Stefaan. He’ll turn out a cute man, with high mechanical and logical skills, tough you might have to encourage the outgoing and the neat… ;-)
Thank you so much for using the name, it’s fun to read it in the story.
Don’t bother about not having aged your sims enough, playing slow has given us a great set of pictures to look at now! And the elexir aging: a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do (speaks the one who uses it ONLY in this fashion…)

  3. Congrads on ten kids! Man I don’t think I;d be able to do that, though I *might* try in G8 or sometime along the track. lol.. Heath and Patrick look liek identical twins! I think I read ur comment somewhere about how Twins don’t look like twins while non-twins all look a like, which I agree. My G2 kids were all relatively different cause there were 2 sets of twins and the eldest boy loked nothing alike his two younger twin brothers. Guess I’m lucky in that respect. But now I’ve got 2 g4 girls so lets see if they’ll be different or clones of each other^^ Neway, ‘nough babble from me. Your G6 should be starting soon hey! lol… so behind, only begining G4… laters

  4. It was sad that Liam died, but the picture of everybody mourning was pretty good funny…with the tombstones above everybody’s heads :) I have yet to get a Platinum tombstone, those are pretty cool!

Your Legacy family is going great, I can’t wait to see more.

  5. Hey Jen, great job on your update. I can’t believe how time flies by. Kay really does look cute. She going to be really pretty adult. It’s too bad you can’t send the kids/teen adults off to college and keep going with G6 and have your sims come back with new skills. You know where they are not moved out just out of the way temp. basis. I remember you once saying you kinda built a college like place. How did that work out? Well who ever moves out I’m sure there will be more then one wedding soon. GL.
    Sim you later

  6. Hi Mary – Yeah, that would be really cool if I could send my teens to college and have them come back! You’re right, I did build a college and planned on doing some stories set there with my regular Sims families, but the announcement of the expansion sort of took the wind out of my sails on that idea.

  7. Yeah! I gave you more options. I hope my input did help you with making a decision on what to do with all those kids and how to proceed to your next Generation.
Looking forward to your next update.

  8. Spare heir? I missed something–who’s THE heir right now? I wouldn’t take a guy–most of them look alike….
Stick to two kids or just one from now on, until things start to settle… though I’m not sure how much they CAN settle! :3 You’ve just got a handful of adolescents. o.o It’s getting alittle confusing.
It’d suck if Fiona didn’t get platinum after all that…

  9. Hi Mieko – Patrick is THE heir at the moment. I like to have a spare just in case something happens. At this point, I am thinking I will keep both Kay and Stefaan, and move Owen, Dubrey, and Heath out. It’ll make for a crowded house once Marie moves in and has a kid or two, but I think I can handle it. I know what you mean about it being confusing — I’m working on an “interactive” family tree, hopefully that will help.

  10. Aw, poor Jen! Sounds like you really need that rest. Well, take a relaxing day tomorrow and enjoy everyone’s blogs!

Stefaan is so cute, I’m glad you don’t have all clones, maybe that’s the reward for having 10 kids! Aw, poor Liam, even if I’ve never played him, I still will miss him! ^_^ He was such a nice sim to read about…

  11. Wow, you did it! 10 kids? I have never even attempted to fulfill that aspiration. It would drive me nutty.
Woo Hoo on your Legacy family. Kinda sad about Uncle Liam though…LOL!

  12. Wow. You are finally done! How does it feel? That took forever. I’m sure it’s a total relief that you’re done….I wonder if you will miss it? Lol, I wouldn’t. I’m glad you’re taking a rest tomorrow. You really do need it and you’ve also really earned it. I look forward to when you come back the day after, though! Have fun! And Good Job!

  13. You finally made it, congrats. It’s so much fun to read your blog…don’t worry I’m way behind on reading them as well. :)

  14. Wow! *agrees with hardship on 10 children* I have my family who has twelve children…twelve! I choose Kay for the heir…yes, Stefaan is the youngest, but a girl would be great! Especially with good looks!
