Aloha, Kiara

Kiara Shanley, aged 74, left us tonight for that great luau in the sky. Let us take a moment to look back upon Kiara’s life and note her many accomplishments.

Kiara Shanley was born in Mt. Geneva to Nia and Sheldon Shanley. She had a twin sister, Bree, who was her best friend all her life. From her teenage years to old age, Kiara had a remarkable career in Athletics, eventually reaching the status of Hall of Famer. Unfortunately she lost her job in her late 60s due to a poor career choice, but she didn’t seem to mind, as it left her more time to paint. Kiara painted several masterpieces in the last decade of her life, selling many of them for §500-700. Some of them still hang on the walls of Shanley Manor, including a portrait she painted of her nephew, Devin Shanley. With the income from athletics and painting, she was able to earn over §63,000 in her lifetime.

Kiara never married but was in love with Kennedy Cox when she died.

Kiara meets the Reaper

Kiara is survived by her sister Bree, her nephews Devin and Liam, and her great-nieces, Fiona and Taryn. A marble gravestone marks the spot where her ashes were interred in the Shanley Family Cemetery. May she rest in peace and not haunt the family too terribly much.

  1. *hyperevilness* I think one of the female kids Kaylynn has should grow up and marry a blonde boy. x3
    Why?
Cause blonde rocks. o_< And you know, in your entry awhile ago you said you'd move Kiara out and have her start a family. And and and... who's gonna paint the rest of the picture? ;___; t.t if you have another boy anytime soon, consider the name Aiden for me? It's one of my favorites.

  2. I was so sad when I read your entry :-(! Kiara did so many things in her lifetime, anshe lived to at least 70! My friends sim Nikolas died when he was 54, thats before his dad! I wish you the best with the younger desendents and the rest of the family!

  3. Also (form cut me off). I remember saying that you would move Kiara out and have her start her own family. Le.sigh. .___. You don’t have time, do you.

  4. That was a nice memorial :) I haven’t lost any of my second generation Sims yet, I know that harder because you saw them grow from little babies. All of my second generation Sims are elders now so it won’t be long…

  5. Mieko – Yeah, I was going to move Kiara out on her own, but then I’d have to play her family in sync with the rest of the Shanleys and it would take me twice as long to finish this challenge! :-) I want to be finished with it by the time the expansion comes out. ;-) I thought about moving Liam out, too, but I’d rather keep him where I’ll actually play him. If that makes sense.

Heidi – It is definitely harder to lose the Sims you’ve raised from little babies. I got a little misty-eyed looking over pics from Kiara’s early days! Hehe.

  6. Awww… Kiara lived a full life! I’m glad she got to go in style… She should’ve had hula guys!!! LOL

What room is this? Lots of goodies in there! Those are interesting looking contraptions on the right side. Is that a box of pizza? What is that sitting on?

  7. Kathy, you’re so observant – I never noticed the box of pizza sitting there! And it’s part of the object, too. I can’t remember the name of that contraption, but it’s the thing that refreshes all of their Needs.

So far, the energizer and the thinking cap have been the most useful aspiration rewards in my Legacy family. Most of them don’t even sleep now – if they’re in Gold or Plat they just charge right up! But yeah, that’s my “skill building” room. It’s getting too crowded, so I’m going to build a separate “skill shack” pretty soon…
