Felix Farr, Tomb Robber

Felix Farr
The ruins shimmer in the oppressive heat.

Felix Farr
While scouting for ore, Felix finds a dig site and starts excavating. Man, just running around collecting stuff could keep him occupied for days.

Felix Farr
Ahmed sends Felix to question some of the locals about the shady company. Seems they don’t think much of it.

Felix Farr
The market is becoming a second home to Felix.

Felix Farr
Felix wants to hang out with Shadia, so he visits her at her house. He finds out she’s Rich, Good, Neat, and a Natural Cook. Sounds like a winner! Unfortunately she’s also married. Sorry, Felix. Guess you’ll have to settle for “just friends”.

Felix Farr
Felix says goodbye to his new best friend. He has a camera now and took a pic of her, but as soon as you activate the camera, it goes into picture-taking mode, and the Sim who is taking the picture disappears. So I can’t get a pic of him taking a pic. You know? It’s too bad.

Felix Farr
Felix has to talk to one more local, so he hits up Farouk, Shadia’s husband. Farouk says, “Hey, you were at my house talking to my wife, weren’t you? I’ve got my eye on you, you Rick O’Connell wannabe!”

Felix Farr
Felix has a wish to see the Sphinx up close, but it’ll have to wait until his next trip — it’s time to go home. Well, “home” is a relative term. He’s already spent more days in Al Simhara than he has in Sunset Valley. And Shadia’s in Egypt. His new best friend! He has no friends in that other place. But his visa is only good for three days, so he must depart.

Until next time…

  1. Glad to see you’re back to poking around with Sims, Jen! I don’t think I’ve even touched mine in a few months. I never have picked up World Adventures because I heard it gave people a lot of grief trying to get it to work. I was looking forward to new jobs in the next expansion, but I’m not sure I want to have to control my sims while they’re at work now, too (I send them to work to get them out of my hair for a while!).

Anywho, your pictures are awesome, as always. :D

    • Audrey!! Good to see you. I totally hear you on sending your Sims to work to get them out of your hair, heh. I was skeptical about Ambitions, but after having so much fun with World Adventures, I’m really looking forward to playing my Sims on the job. I just wish they’d incorporate some aspects of Open for Business so we could have true businesses. Oh well, maybe that’s down the road? *crosses fingers*

  2. Looks like you’re having fun with Felix! I found WA more enjoyable than I thought I would. I wasn’t expecting much.

“Never mind that it looks like a hideout for gun-toting mercenaries. Or maybe drug lords.”

Ha, it so does! I thought that too when I sent a Sim there for the first time.

“So I can’t get a pic of him taking a pic. You know? It’s too bad.”

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one disappointed by that! I like camera mode in TS2 better for that reason and also because you can swing it around freely.

    • Yeah, I didn\’t really get into World Adventures until I created this Sim for the sole purpose of exploring it. Turns out it\’s great fun. And yeah, good point about being able to swing the TS2 camera around freely — that really bugs me in TS3. Having the collections is a fun challenge, though. And you can definitely make a lot of money taking pics. Oh well, typical EA, they take two steps forward and two steps backward at the same time. ;-P

  3. Oh, this is so cool! I’ve been travelling to Egypt with Morgana and Thornton Wolff since they’re filthy-rich and have nothing else better to do. (Five kids at home, who really cares if they have the money for babysitter, right?)

And I love your sense of humor! “Don’t get too excited, dude, that’s just your plumbob up there.” :D

Anyways, I wanted to thank you for donating, Jen, I was writing you emails but I always got them back so you haven’t recieved any Thank You Note. So thanks a lot again, I’m really grateful!

    • Well, that’s weird, I wonder why your e-mails to me weren’t going through. Ah well! But thanks for your site, I always enjoy visiting! :-)

  4. It disappointed me too when I realized that you can’t take a picture of a sim taking a picture. Plus, the framed pictures are so small. Maybe that’s just because I haven’t skilled anyone’s photography skill up yet…

I love your sense of humor too, lol. Hilarious!

Some gorgeous shots. I love the vacation worlds.

    • Thanks, lunarfox! I haven’t skilled anyone’s photography up much, either. Felix is working on it, but he’s still at level 4 or something. I was disappointed at how small the framed pics are, too. Ah well, maybe they’ll finally get it right in Sims 4? :-p

  5. Jen, you’re back! Man, I’ve been suffering withdrawl for months ;) Nice to see you’re having fun with Sims 3 again, anyway, and sharing that with us. I went back to Sims 2 a while back, because I can now play with all the expansions except Bon Voyage (which I never bothered to get) installed. Maybe thumping my old laptop to death may have done some good after all :)

    • Hey Scally! Hope you’re having fun with the Sims 2 and all the expansions. You’re not missing much without Bon Voyage anyway. ;-) That was probably my least favorite out of all the EPs.
