I’ve been taking a bazillion pics of my “Seasoned Traveler Challenge” Sim, Felix Farr, on his many adventures abroad. I thought I’d share some of them just for fun.
Felix starts out on his 60 x 60 lot. Right away he calls the travel agent and books a trip to Egypt. Who needs a house?
Pretty impressive-looking place. I have a lot more appreciation for EA’s world-builders after using CAW.
Felix looks a little like James Dean (when he wore glasses). D’oh. Totally unintentional!
Base camp. We shall waste no time. We shall go ADVENTURING!
What was that rustle in the bushes? Brave Sir Felix will find out!
Aw, a pretty moth! Felix’s first of many “discoveries” in this hot, sandy land.
Felix darts off on his scooter to meet his first adventure contact.
Local woman Aisha something-or-other sends Felix off to fetch some papers from the Tomb of Discovery.
Felix decides to buy some supplies at the market first. The cashier looks skeptical about his chances for survival.
I know you want a camera, Felix, but you can’t afford it yet. You just spent your last Simoleons on dried food and a shower in a can. Patience, my little Indiana-Jones-in-training.

Glad to see you’re back to poking around with Sims, Jen! I don’t think I’ve even touched mine in a few months. I never have picked up World Adventures because I heard it gave people a lot of grief trying to get it to work. I was looking forward to new jobs in the next expansion, but I’m not sure I want to have to control my sims while they’re at work now, too (I send them to work to get them out of my hair for a while!).
Anywho, your pictures are awesome, as always. :D
Audrey!! Good to see you. I totally hear you on sending your Sims to work to get them out of your hair, heh. I was skeptical about Ambitions, but after having so much fun with World Adventures, I’m really looking forward to playing my Sims on the job. I just wish they’d incorporate some aspects of Open for Business so we could have true businesses. Oh well, maybe that’s down the road? *crosses fingers*
Looks like you’re having fun with Felix! I found WA more enjoyable than I thought I would. I wasn’t expecting much.
“Never mind that it looks like a hideout for gun-toting mercenaries. Or maybe drug lords.”
Ha, it so does! I thought that too when I sent a Sim there for the first time.
“So I can’t get a pic of him taking a pic. You know? It’s too bad.”
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one disappointed by that! I like camera mode in TS2 better for that reason and also because you can swing it around freely.
Yeah, I didn\’t really get into World Adventures until I created this Sim for the sole purpose of exploring it. Turns out it\’s great fun. And yeah, good point about being able to swing the TS2 camera around freely — that really bugs me in TS3. Having the collections is a fun challenge, though. And you can definitely make a lot of money taking pics. Oh well, typical EA, they take two steps forward and two steps backward at the same time. ;-P
Oh, this is so cool! I’ve been travelling to Egypt with Morgana and Thornton Wolff since they’re filthy-rich and have nothing else better to do. (Five kids at home, who really cares if they have the money for babysitter, right?)
And I love your sense of humor! “Don’t get too excited, dude, that’s just your plumbob up there.” :D
Anyways, I wanted to thank you for donating, Jen, I was writing you emails but I always got them back so you haven’t recieved any Thank You Note. So thanks a lot again, I’m really grateful!
Well, that’s weird, I wonder why your e-mails to me weren’t going through. Ah well! But thanks for your site, I always enjoy visiting! :-)
It disappointed me too when I realized that you can’t take a picture of a sim taking a picture. Plus, the framed pictures are so small. Maybe that’s just because I haven’t skilled anyone’s photography skill up yet…
I love your sense of humor too, lol. Hilarious!
Some gorgeous shots. I love the vacation worlds.
Thanks, lunarfox! I haven’t skilled anyone’s photography up much, either. Felix is working on it, but he’s still at level 4 or something. I was disappointed at how small the framed pics are, too. Ah well, maybe they’ll finally get it right in Sims 4? :-p
Jen, you’re back! Man, I’ve been suffering withdrawl for months ;) Nice to see you’re having fun with Sims 3 again, anyway, and sharing that with us. I went back to Sims 2 a while back, because I can now play with all the expansions except Bon Voyage (which I never bothered to get) installed. Maybe thumping my old laptop to death may have done some good after all :)
Hey Scally! Hope you’re having fun with the Sims 2 and all the expansions. You’re not missing much without Bon Voyage anyway. ;-) That was probably my least favorite out of all the EPs.
