You know, Uncle Elvis may be kind of a grump sometimes, but he’s super handy and he gets things done. If I ever get married, I hope my guy has some of those same qualities. (And no, I’m NOT thinking about Joel right now! Stop giggling at me!)
Speaking of Joel…(OK, so I was thinking about him a little) he wasn’t at school today, so I kind of moped around all day…that is, until I got my report card. Straight A all the way, baby! My first good report card since we moved to this crazy place. Wa-hoo!
I sprinted into the house to tell Elvis and Dad. Elvis congratulated me and went back to feeding Weezy. When I saw Dad, my eyes bugged out. He was wearing the ugliest sweater I have ever seen. No lie.
“Um…is that new?” I asked.
Dad beamed. “Yep, just got it today. Clearance rack at Lamberson’s. Only five Simoleons! Nice, huh?”
I glanced over at Elvis, who just shook his head at me.
“Dad, it’s…interesting. Is that a fish swimming towards a mandolin?”
“Oh, I don’t know. Say, Fran — do you still need something to wear to work? Because I picked up a nice outfit. Great little bargain. It’s upstairs on your bed if you want to try it on.”
I couldn’t help it. I started to laugh.
“Dad, I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but I’m not sure I trust your taste in clothes…”
“What?” he said, getting defensive. “Well, see if I buy anything for you again!”
He turned and huffed off towards the living room, leaving me with my jaw hanging open. Elvis raised an eyebrow at me, and I felt really bad all of a sudden. My dad had bought me something — ME — and I had been horribly rude to him. Ack.
Feeling remorseful, I went upstairs and put the outfit on. It’s not too bad but…let’s just say I’m thankful we don’t have a full-length mirror in the house.
Rico laughed at me as he dashed out the door for his nursing home job, so I yelled, “Have fun cleaning up pee puddles!” I don’t think he heard me, though, because the sound of the telephone ringing drowned me out. I answered it, and much to my happiness, it was Joel!
He was all excited. He said he had auditioned for Rayna’s band, and they wanted him to join! What’s even better is that they were leaving to go on tour tomorrow as the opening act for Death by Flies.
“Ohmygosh!” I cried. “We heard them on that radio show the other night! They ROCKED! You’re going to be famous!”
“Ha, well, I don’t know about that…”
“You will, you will. So what’s the name of your band?”
“Bleak Immortal.”
“Haha, really? Are you sure that’s dark and angsty enough?”
I teased him some more, and he laughed, and it was all good times. Then my carpool honked, so I had to say goodbye. He said he has band practice tonight, and they’re leaving tomorrow morning for the tour. He’s going to miss school and everything! Lucky duck.
As I walked out to the crappy old car waiting for me, I realized I was going to miss him. Terribly. What’s worse, I won’t even get a chance to say goodbye. He’d better write to me, frammit.
Woops…I wanted to tell you all about my new job (which is very odd and yet, strangely cool), but I gotta go eat dinner. Yeah, it’s late tonight because everyone was working, and we had to wait for my mom to cook because dad’s a horrible cook and Elvis was in the garden, so…yeah. Welcome to the loony bin!
Oh, and I’m a dunce…TOMORROW is Bernie’s birthday, not today. So my gift for him is just sitting in Elvis’s cottage for now. I guess we’ll party tomorrow night!

YAY! Glad to hear from Fran. Great update. Fran’s Dad sure is interesting, eh? I’m sorry Joel is leaving, hopefully he won’t be gone for good & Fran will be happy again.

An update! An update! And not a single mention of orcs or drakes or hobbits! WOOT!! *is excited* Poor Weezy. Poor kid better not remember any of this when she finally grows up. Her dad is a total flake! She’s bound to think that her uncle is her dad since he takes more/better care of her than her actual dad. And he’s got HORRID taste. Who were this man’s parents?! Poor Elivs’ plants. Here’s hoping that they survive … perhaps they want to hear his voice. Speak to the plants, Elvis. They’re longing to hear you. :)

Argh, I’m doing the Sims 2 equivalent of homework right now. I’m slooooo-oooooo-oooooowly organizing all my custom walls and floors, and that’s in between redesigning all the Maxis pre-made houses to suit my tastes and needs. At least the latter’s fun and creative if dull after a while, but the former.. Gnaaaaa.

Uncle Elvis is funny, I feel bad for the poor guy with that crazy man in the house… He really should get a job. And Weezy, the poor thing always being thrown on the floor! Fran should call the Social Worker to take her father away, LOL.

Poor Uncle Elvis. He sure does look frazzled. He is getting rather worked up for some weeds. ‘Death by Flies’ I love it! And I don’t blame Fran for being a little concerned about the outfit her dad might have bought for her. That shirt should be burned! The outfit isn’t the most beautiful but its not too bad.

My niece, almost two years old, like fran and weezy i think, because she kept pointing at the screen spurting happy baby languages and laughing to herself whenever she saw fran/weezy.Can’t wait for the next great updates!

Isola is very pretty. I don’t blame Elvis for crushing on her. Fran’s dad is wack. I hope Weezy doesn’t need counseling from spending most of her infancy on the floor and in a barrel. Fran’s new outfit is too awful. It looks better from the back.

Im starting to miss Frans old hair…thats just me i think. Uncle Elvis and Isola! cute couple! Frans dad is total loony tunes! Poor Weezy. I think that Rayna knocked down the trash can, personally. Because she was like stalking Fran and Joel wasnt she? she seemed like the kind of person who’d take agression to another level. or of course it could be the bullies with Bernie. but I just think its Rayna for some reason. Lol! That is so wierd I split my teen girl and her boyfriend up too.But after she left college I made a plan to get them back together you know like a happy reunion.Good work oh wouldn’t I love a dad like frans.Or would I?

Shaera, you asked about the Metallica poster! I’m 99.9% sure I got it from Mod the Sims 2, but I can’t find it now. :-( . If you do a search on “Metallica” or “posters” you might be able to find it…maybe my eyes just missed it! I’ll keep looking.
I love Fran and her crazy family, glad your back to blogging them. My favorite character would have to be the dad, he’s just plain kooky. He’s kinda like my dad actually, he tends to just go off and do the craziest things imaginable. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t.
