Nanny Gramps

After my spare heir Basil moved out with his wife Roxy and their boys Cole and Cornelius, Roxy returned to Burr Cottage bearing gifts – a dozen roses and a piano. Must have been a delayed reaction from the dream date she had with Basil like five million years ago. Either that or she’s taken up a new hobby as a do-gooder, sort of a Repo Man in reverse.

Back at Basil’s house, I played until Roxy gave birth to her fifth child. This put the total number of grandchildren up to six, rocketing my founder Azalea into permanent platinum, and not a moment too soon, because she passed away soon after. I’m glad I didn’t count on Belinda’s second child being grandkid number 6, because he wouldn’t have been born in time.

Though I was sad to see Azalea depart, at least I had wacky levitating hula dancers to soften the blow.

Burr Family
“Would you ladies quit messin’ around? I’m trying to reap a soul here.”

Sometime either that night or the next day (forgot to jot it down, dangnabbit), Belinda had a baby boy. I named him Coriander, to go along with the plants/nature/alphabetical scheme upon which I’ve become so fixated.

Burr Family
“I hope you don’t mind being a spare wheel, shnookums.”

Coriander has red hair and brown eyes just like his Grandpa Vincentio. Speaking of good old Gramps, now that he’s maxed his skills and reached permaplat, what is he good for? Why, babysitting, of course. Need smart milk? Call Gramps! Baby’s throwing a tantrum and wants to be let out of her crib? Gramps will save the day! He’s very handy to have around. And it gives him something to do.

Here he is playing with Camellia the toddler:

Burr Family
“Grandpa, where did all those people come from?”

I can never get enough of toddler pics.

Burr Family
“That’s because we’re obnoxiously cute.”

And hey, look! TWO finished bathrooms! Let’s have a party!

Burr Family

Once Belinda was done having her two kids, she got a job as a paramedic. Her LTW is to be a Chief of Staff. She gets the pretty carriage because she’s the heir.

Burr Family
“Giddy up, my trusty steeds!”

And here’s little Camellia, grown into a child. I think she has all of her father’s features, except for her coloring.

I have one word for this next picture. And that word is…

BUBBLES!

Burr Family

Here’s Gramps pulling double-duty as a nanny and skill-trainer, teaching Camellia how to give really dull political speeches.

Burr Family
“Repeat after me: I am not a crook!”

Meanwhile Farley gave Belinda lessons on ripping apart surgical dummies.

Burr Family
“That’s…fascinating.”

I know all of this high-tech wizardry doesn’t fit the historical theme at all, but it would be a shame to have such stellar skill-building items at my disposal and not use them, by golly! Especially in a Legacy.

  1. Eee! Supercute bathrooms! Modthesims2? And.. BUBBLES! :D Hee! I can’t wait to get to the victorian ages, everything is so much prettier. I have to say, Vincentio looks very dashing as an older guy. Like the epitome of a robber baron slash wild west tycoon! Mrwr. Camellia looks to have an interesting mixture of features herself, speaking of which? Pointy cheeks.. Wicked grin! XD I wonder what she’ll look like as an adult.
‘Trim the shrubbery!’ made me literally lol! :D You’ve got really snappy commentary with this family, I loves it. Hey, what WordPress layout do you use? I like my minimalistic thing, but I’m really hankering for the ability to put comments right underneath each photo like you do.

  2. http://ppgcom.gooside.com/ppgz/bubbles-z.jpg Bubbles! Or rather the Japanese Anime version of Bubbles hee hee. I’m glad you finally got Azalea into Platinum that must’ve been a relief phew. Roxy’s delayed gifts and the floating Hula Dancers made me laugh! I’m glad you had another update! Yay! And I’m not saying much…I should update myself..Don’t mind me, I’m babbling…. :)

  3. Yay, another update from you! :D Love the bubbles shot with Camellia. I’m obsessed with kids and bubbles in my own game right now, since I just recently had found out they could do that. Also gotta love them silly hula girls. I love when they pop in sideways.. or in the middle of a wall.. or in another room. Great job maxing all them skills, too! And Coriander is adorable!

Although it is a SAD UPDATE with no pictures of Basil, woman. In the next update, I demand lots of gorgeous Basil pictures, even if the update has nothing to do with him whatsoever. ;D (although Roxy and her belated gift giving was hilarious).

  4. Hm. I tried the program out now, and whereas there is a degree of importing data from the game you still have to enter a lot. Plus there are odd glitches, and it’s fairly complex/non newbie friendly. I’m going to keep poking at it, tho: the easy way it shows genetics and the ‘find potential mate’ lists are quite nifty tools.

  5. Jen, I loved the update!
Belinda’s children are absolutely adorable and I love all the little comments you make. Congrats on reaching so many impossible/LT wants all ready; your truly a legacy challenge pro!
I started a new blog with a new story (not a challenge type of story) and I would love to have to you check it. The story is something completely new for me.
Anywho, keep up the great work and I’m looking forward to seeing Basil and his brood!

  6. This update was super col! I loe looking at Belinda i her carriage- it was really funny. Camelia’s hair i nice though. I was actualy sad that Azalea died- she was a hilarious founder with her Victorian prissyness. (Is that a word?)

  7. Oh my gosh, I am so sorry- I cannot spell- darn. I meant that the update was cool, Belinda in her carriage and Camellia’s hair is nice. Sorry for double posting, and for my bad spelling!

  8. Love it when you update. You always make me laugh. This family is so cute! Corainder is ADORABLE in that picture of learning how to walk. I would go nuts with that middle of nowhere handicap. I feel for you, I really do. (Think we should get checked for OCD?) Poor Azalea. I’m sure the next generations will make her proud. WOW! Five kids for a non-legacy household. Think down the line that’s like ten million families to maintain! Well…something like that. (I knew I failed that pre-cal test today…) Can’t wait for the next update!

  9. Haha! Azalea is a cranky old ghost, isn’t she? Too bad ghosts don’t trim the hedges. She should try picking up if she doesn’t like! Darn ghosts, anyway. ;) This legacy is progressing pretty fast–I’m amazed! Those bathroom look so awesome and fitting of the time. The kids are so cute in their clothes… I would never have the discipline to do the time transition clothing thing, so it’s really cool to see someone else do it. Keep up the awesome work as always, Jen!

  10. Great updates Jen! I just love this family…I think it’s because of the time period progression! I can’t wait to see the next era!

  11. Adorable! Belinda and Farley make such great kids. And it’s almost like having a little Belinda and Basil all over again – a blonde and a red! So sorry about the passing of Azalea, but the crooked hula dancers did bring a bit of *levity* to the situation. I’m looking forward to seeing Basil’s kids! And congrats on 2 finished bathrooms! That’s no small feat!

  12. Hey, Jen! Just to reply to the question you left on my blog; yes, I do use default replacements. I got them at modthesims2.com (that site is just great, isn’t it?) You can find the ones I’m currently using here: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=156377. I really like them… I don’t like my “playing” sims to look overly realistic, so they’re nice.

  13. I would also love to see a close up pic of Coriander! I want to see if he looks like his sister, hehe, genetics are like the best part of the Sims 2!

I love how you do so many updates, I always get so excited when I see you’ve updated. :) Great job, once again!

  14. I don’t really care that much for this legacy and was wondering when you were going to update your other legacy the ravelos? I’m not really into the whole period theme.

  15. Noooo! More Burrs!
    … I never thought I’d say I wanted a non-Ravelos update! @.o Dude. But. BURRS! I blame Basil. :D

  16. It’s basically like the same thing except this one has a theme… I love the Burrs!! They’re both just legacy challenges… :)

  17. I always love your stories and sims and have been following them for a loooong time. I love the Burrs! I love the time period and it’s as beautiful as usual. Much luff!
