Darn That Real Life Stuff

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that my updates may be very sporadic over the next 4-5 weeks. My little brother is getting married this weekend, so I have assorted family stuff to do all week, plus I’m babysitting my cousins for two nights and won’t have computer access there (*sniff*). Once November 1st hits, I’ll be participating in NaNoWriMo, so that will take up quite a bit of my time (I’ll be attempting to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days). I’m not doing a NaNo blog this year, but I may check in here from time to time to let you guys know how it’s going.

I want to do at least one Ravelo update before Nano starts, but after that, things may be quiet here, and if I do update, the posts will be relatively short. I hope you’ll keep checking back, though, and definitely do come back in December, as I’ll be revving up for my Simmies’ holidays. :-D

Take care!

  1. Oh Jen, that’s of course sad to hear in one way, but I guess I know just how you feel. Sims still aren’t the essence of our lives, are they *g*. Of course all of us will be chicking you blog at least once a day, just to HOPE, but we won’t mind you taking some time for other things. AND we can be certain that you come back in a month whatsoever. So enjoy your NaNo (you’ll be marvellous at that, no doubt) and don’t let us wait too long :).
Oh, and because you asked at my blog – no, I won’t be able to play Farah any longer, as my Baltimore Bay neighborhood got deleted and the only family that I packed was the main house – all other families I played during that time got completely lost, including Farah’s home. So even if I wanted to (and I REALLY wanted to) continue to write about her, it sadly is impossible. I would’ve loved to see little Sarah grow, but no such luck :( (see this entry, http://evabaltimorebay.blogmeister.de/archives/70/20051019, for more information) about the loss! So enjoy whatever you’re doing, especially the wedding, and until later :)

  2. That’s so neat that you’re participating! And don’t worry, we all understand, of course. I’m going through the same thing with my blog, also.
And congratulations to your brother. I love weddings!
    Have fun!

  3. Hey, it’s only a month, that’s not long at all! :D Have a blast at the wedding, lady. I’m glad you’ll let us know how the nanowrimo thing goes!

  4. Weddings rock. Have the most fun that you can have..to bad none of my siblings are going to get married in the near future, then i would have an excuse not to go to school and escape the hours of homework for one class. Have fun and be prepared for loads of comments when you come back in December! Long breaks always stack up comments haha. And your updates about the Holidays last year were hilarious. I smile now thinking about it. And yes, you are doing NanoWrimo..i am a bit saddened that you arent going to do a blog for it, but I know you will already be stressed out with the whole aspect of actually completing it, let along posting it on a blog haha. Well, Have a marvelous time, and the best of wishes to your brother on his marriage. I would die if my brother were to get married..even though he’s only 14 haha. I bet the experience of seeing a sibling marry is awesome..too bad I will have to wait atleast 5 more years for one of my sisters to get married, even though they dont even have boyfriends at this time..haha. I wanna go to a wedding! The best of wishes to you and your family on such a joyous occasion. And we will check your blog sporadically. Dont worry about that. Atleast you know i will. :D

  5. Just letting you know that I’ll be changing my site around November 1st or so. I’m going to close the old one (long story) and go for something else. So the address won’t be kayssims.net anymore. Rar! I’ll be doing Sims 2 stories on the new one, though!

  6. We’ll all miss your updates while your gone Jen, but real life takes over simming quite often :) Have fun with it all, I bet the wedding will be a blast!
50,000 word novel in 30 days???? Thats like….more than 1500 words a day! :o Haha, I could never do that, Id write one page and get writers block….;)

Good luck, and looking forward to the one Ravelo update!
    Kath

  7. Thanks, you guys are awesome! I’m actually kinda nervous about the wedding since during the ceremony (in front of 150 people, eeep) I’ll be reading a poem I wrote, but once that’s over with, I’m sure I’ll have fun. *whees*

Eva M – Darnit, I forgot you lost your whole neighborhood! :-( That really stinks. :-( I’m glad you packaged the main family, though. They’re coming back, right? I love the Morrigans!

*waves to susana, Jessica, and PRMami* :-)

Eva – Haha, I wish you could go to a wedding, too! And get out of doing all your homework. ;-) My sister is in school now and still has to study this weekend, even though she’s IN the wedding. Homework, bleh! But I guess it’s a necessary evil. :-) Hope you have some fun, too, despite all of the studying.

Kay – YAY! I miss your stories and can’t wait to see your new site!!

Kath – You should try NaNo sometime! If you get writer’s block, you just write about whatever pops into your head, like…talking cabbages…or alien ghost vampires. :-) Then you fix it all later, when the month is over. I’m not even planning what I’m going to write this year — I just have a very vague character and setting, and I’m going to just sit down and see what comes of it. It might work, it might not. But it’ll be fun to see what happens.

  8. I’ve decided to try NaNo on a whim.
    Whether I’ll submit anything, I don’t know.
But I am getting a blast out of the forum itself.
    :3~

  9. you’ll do fine with the poem. i survived at my sister’s wedding, reading my speech. congrats to your brother and your future-sis-in-law. :)

we’ll definitely miss you, but we have so many stories here to reread while you’re taking a break. if you wish to share your NaNo, please do! we love your writing in whatever form you take. :) have fun! enjoy your break! :D

  10. Good luck with NaNoWriMo, Jen! I thought about signing up myself, but I think I’ll do it next year. I’ve got too many short stories to finish! Don’t forget to have a blast at your brothers’ wedding!
