Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I’m still alive and simming. I’ve been playing quite a bit lately but not writing any stories — mostly because I’ve been jumping around from family to family, from neighborhood to neighborhood, and feel like I shouldn’t post again until I figure out what my focus will be with this here blog. Or maybe I’ll decide to have no focus. Not sure yet. :-)
At any rate, change is in the air…I don’t know if it’s the encroaching autumn or the promise of riches in the Nightlife EP, but I have so many ideas for my Sims that it’s driving me bonkers! And I’ve let so many things fizzle out — the Braytons, the Shanleys, Annabel Island (which I’m still playing, just not writing about) — that I hesitate to latch onto any one idea at this point. I guess we’ll see what happens.
In the meantime, I’m sure you guys are checking out all of the great new blogs that have popped up, as well as the older ones that are still going strong. Amanda at Danbury Fields has a great story going right now and just posted some cool info about Nightlife. She’s also started a forum for Sim pictures called Sim Shots, which promises to be a lot of fun once it gets going. Bitsy from Somnium is back after a 5-month hiatus and is going strong with her Legacy family and its satellites (and I love her new blog layout). So there’s a lot going on in the Sims blogging community these days.
By the way, September 29th will be the one-year anniversary of Greetings from Mt. Geneva (its original incarnation on Blog*Spot is still out there, oddly enough), so hopefully I can get my act together by then, and we can have a contest or something.
Last but not least, my heart goes out to those affected by the Hurricane Katrina disaster. I can’t imagine what you must be going through. DylanTK, I hope you and yours are getting along all right.
Oh Jen, you’re so jumpy lately *lol* – I mean, nothing can really catch you to write a story about, or is it? Should this probably be a sign that deep inside of you you want to start another new legacy challenge ;)? – I love legacy challenges, that’s all. And I know I won’t be getting the new ep because my pc just won’t take it, with only 256 ram it’s really slow and doing hard with my game already. But at least my Morrigans are doing well, after some glitches with the whirlpool that I could gladly repair! Wow, one year around already (almost) – I’m excited what contest you’re thinking about! Have fun :) Eva
Same here, same here. I DID get my Romance Sim through college, though, and I had fun doing it! :D She’s going to be living in Strangetown as soon as I’ve finished going through all the pre-made Maxis families.
But yeah, updating’s sloooooow on my front too. Can’t wait for Nightlife! Are you going to test out the whole vampire thing?
I’ve been suggesting a lot of wierd things lately but I’m done with that. I love your new motto as usual. I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since you started your blog. I still wish some of the other blogs from back then were updating. Some of which, you can’t even read their old stories anymore. I love all your families so whatever you decide would be fine with me.
Well, first of all I just want to say, don’t stress! We all are loyal fans of yours but we also know how frustrating it can sometimes be to post an update when you don’t feel like it. So don’t worry, as long as you are having fun playing and reading all our updates. Secondly I’d just like to say thanks for giving the spotlight to SimShots and my blog, I appreciate it. *big hugs*
Hopefully more people will stop by SimShots and start posting. :)
hehe…I remember the old site…
whatever you choose to write about is fine with me. I have to admit that I miss the Braytons especially though.
I love all of your simmie stories Jen! But I must say, it is you who got me hooked on the Victorian era! And the new RKC challenge story you started really looks awesome so far! I really want to read more about those people and their gorgeous homes! You really have a knack for building homes and decorating; but I’m sure you’ve already been told that! Whatever you decide to do, I’m sure we’ll all be blown away by your creativity and awesome-ness once again!
I have read this post for the 50th time and i still idndt post haha. I dont know why but i keep forgetting. It seems as if everyone is getting tired of the sims families or writing stories about them which is fine because whenever we did get to know about the families we had fun. I love the idea of a contest and i wonder what will be won.
I really don’t mind who you choose to write about Jen, it’s entirely your choice. But I would like to say that I love Maude’s tales. I don’t know what it is about them, but I just think they are great!! I also love the Shanleys, the Braytons, Christal Chinchilla and The RKC! So I really don’t mind. I’ll read whatever story you post! :)
Oh yeah, and I seriously cant wait until nightlife! I just hope my pc can manage it. Is 384mb of ram enough? :S If it is, Im sure it won’t be by the time maxis release another expansion pack. By the time they have 5 expansion packs out my pc will explode! hehe.
Lol, I did a test on gamespy to see if my system can run Nightlife, and it reckons my video card isn’t good enough. But then, it also says I can’t play Uni for the same reason, and I can (although slowly) so Im not sure I beleive it.
Im sure the game will be pretty slow though :(
I’ve been in a slump a bit too. I’m just really anxious about getting the NL ep that I’m getting really sidetracked in preparing my files for it. Looking forward to another update though as I tend to come here often to see if you’ve written anything new ;)
Hi Jen,
glad to hear you’re still playing, I tought, after some comments about getting bored, that you might have taken a break from simming. DOn’t worry, everybody gets a dip every now and then, it’ll be better in a while!! Just keep playing for fun, and the want to start writing will come up again!! (in the mean while, I keep wandering about your royal kingdom families… I’m trying to build some victorian houses myself, but they never seem to be pretty enough to play in or better, to take pictures of and post about ;-))
Almost a year passed and i hope continue read your interesting stories Jen. Take care :))
Hey,
I can’t wait until you find direction. I miss your stories. ISBI was very funny. Cristal chinchilla. Ha. The colors of the trees are turning already here in Michigan. How’s it for you?
The leaves are slowly starting to change color here, too, and the mornings and evenings are getting cooler. I suppose it won’t be long before I’m scraping the frost off my car windows!
I’m going to write a post about what I’ve been up to, but thanks to everyone for the comments and for continuing to check my site. Hopefully we’ll have some updates soon.
