Blog of the Week – Bringing Up Daysies

A long time ago I thought about doing a “Blog of the Week” feature, but back then there weren’t as many Sims 2 blogs, and I would have run out of ones to highlight in a couple of months. But there seems to have been a blog boom recently, so I thought now would be a great time to start this up.

There are a ton of truly excellent Sims 2 blogs out there (many of which are listed in my sidebar under “Sims 2 Blogs”), but my first Blog of the Week just has to be Bringing Up Daysies, run by chattykathy. Her blog was one of the first ones I found when I was hunting for Sims 2 blogs back in September, and it’s still going strong half a year later.

Kathy’s site consists primarily of Sims 2 news and links to the incredible new objects available for beta testing out on Mod the Sims 2, where Kathy is a moderator. She’s also the keeper of the helpful “Getting ready for University” FAQ on MOTS2, so she has a lot of technical know-how when it comes to the Sims. She’s always very responsive to questions about her site or TS2 in general.

Everything is neatly organized by category: Hacks & Mods; Meshes & Objects; Cheats, Tips & Tutes; and categories for her various Sims families. She doesn’t blog much about her families anymore — I’m sure the moderator job takes up a huge chunk of her time — but they’re fun to read about if you dig back into the archives a bit.

Another thing I love about her site is that she tries to update every day if possible, so there’s always something new to check out. I’m sure most of you know about her site already, but if you don’t, then go take a look!

That’s all i have for you. Hope they were a bit of help!

  2. Hear! Hear! I frequent the MTS2 boards a lot and the links she provides are very useful for finding the best stuff, even though I don’t get a lot of them. She also introduced me to MTS2 which I am very grateful of. I would have missed out on a huge amount of stuff.

  3. Thank you, Jen! I’m very flattered! Yes, MTS2 takes up my time, but I plan on getting back to playing my various families (or reincarnate them) when the site overhaul is complete. I do try to update daily. You just can’t miss out on all the goodies. :)

Aner-Dyfan – I see you on the boards, too. I happen to download your hoodie mesh tonight when we were reorganizing the downloads. I wish I could mesh and mod like the other talented people. For now, I just try to work the forums and calm the mayhem. It’s not as tough/stressful as it looks. It’s pretty much settled down now. I’m glad the two of you keep on visiting. :D

  4. What a wonderful way to start (or restart) blog of the week…her blog was one of the first I found too. If I ever want to know what kinds of great hacks, objects, news, or other interesting bits are out there I always visit hers first :) I certainly trust the information and objects she puts on her site!
