Makin’ Friends

In the last update, Mia Shanley had founded her own Greek house, Hoh-Cham-Hoh, and invited several of her friends from the dorms to become members. Some of them moved in with her, allowing her to slowly double the size of the house as the grant money rolled in each semester. Here is 124 Almond Road in all its glory:

It’s not much, but it’s a start. You can see the Greek letters on the second story; I had to delete a window to make room for them! And of course, there’s Mia on her cell phone out front, and Darren and Sandy hanging out in the love tub.

Mia’s ex-boyfriend Chase wanted to have his first Woohoo, and Sandy the Romance Sim wanted to Woohoo with 3 Sims, so I figured they might as well help each other out. Their relationship score was already high, so it was just a matter of making Chase flirt with Sandy to get them to fall in love. Unfortunately I did this while Mia was working on her term paper on the computer in the same room (woops), and her daily relationship scores with both Chase and Sandy plummeted into the negative. This was just around the beginning of second semester, and I wanted Mia to make 15 friends before she left college. She lost two of them in one fell swoop. D’oh!

It didn’t really matter after that, but I sent Chase and Sandy upstairs for the remainder of their wooing. I can’t recall if they actually woohooed that night or not, but they were definitely in love.

Of course, since Sandy is also in love with her professor, it may not last long.

Well, Mia needed to repair those friendships quickly if she was going to make her 15 friends and be Big Woman on Campus before her time was up. She and Chase had a nice long talk on the couch outside and mended the rift between them.

Chase and Mia talk
“I seriously wanted to punch Marcel in the face when I saw you guys together!”

It’s really too bad Chase is a townie and not an NPC — he and Mia would probably have really cute children. And Mia was still in love with him. Alas!

Mia hugs Chase
“I forgive you, Chase.”

Mia had a really low relationship score with one of the other members of the household, Suzie Alioto, so I had them work on that in the new living room.

Mia talks to Suzie
“I want to be a cop so I can have one of those lights that go blink blink! and a siren that goes wheeeeerrrhweeerrr…”

After several days of chatting with friends, gabbing on the phone, and going to classes (one of which was titled “Advanced Autonomy: Finding the Best Action”), Mia finally made her 15th friend, Simon Kosmokos. She became Big Woman on Campus and scored loads of aspiration and influence points.

Mia hangs out with Simon
“First of all, I want to thank you for wearing boxers underneath your toga.”

After that, Mia could relax and party a little bit before graduation. She had a lot of wants involving her aunt Aurora, so she invited her over all the time. Here’s a better picture of Aurora’s funky new makeover:

“Do you mind? Trying to study, here.”

At some point Mia took her last final exam and graduated summa cum laude. A message popped up saying she had 72 more hours before she had to leave campus, so I spent that time seeing if she could make a little money. She wanted to buy a guitar, so I indulged her, and she had a great time playing in the yard, hoping to get some tips. I had Sandy throw a toga party so more people would be around — more people to cough up their hard-earned cash for Mia’s tip jar.

Mia plays guitar
“Hey Marcel, can you do the moonwalk?”

With a Creativity score of 8, Mia was pretty darned good, too. In the above picture, Suzie and Marcel dance amid the strewn juice cups.

  1. Great one! I hope Mia does well in her “new floorless, wallpaperless shack”! I can’t wait to see if she does–or who her husband is going to be. Have fun. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

  2. I can’t wait to see how Mia’s life turns out! I just now sent my 10th generation heir to college, so hopefully it will be as fun as Mia’s was!

  9. Hi Jen!
I’m reading this with a “strained” ligament in my leg, following the trend of being ill at the moment…
Wow! You got someone graduated from college! I’ve only just got the EP, so no sims’s actually graduated yet…I’ve seen that cow mascot too, it’s pure EVIL ):-)
    Anyway, good luck!

    E-Liz :)

  10. Bummer, I’m sorry to hear about all the sick kids. And your strained ligament, E-Liz. Hope everyone feels better soon!

Mary – Mia’s major was Psychology (switched from Poli Sci). She had to prepare for a life in Law Enforcement if she wanted to be a Captain Hero someday (her Lifetime Want). :-)

  11. Okay, so I thought Mia was one of the prettier sims, but you were right. She looks freaky playing the guitar in her mortar board and gown. Freaky.

  12. Hehe. I like the ending part. You’re funny. Great end to your heir’s life at University! I can’t wait to see what you have in store for her as an adult! Who’s she gonna marry? What kind of job does she want? Hehe. TELL ALL!
