Rian was due to return from his “vacation” anytime, but the house was too crowded now, and Aidan knew the gaggle of teens would just drive Rian crazy again. So he asked his sister Taryn if he and Rian could possibly move in with her family. She said she would consider it, since they had such a small house.
“Hm, I don’t know. Rian seems a little bit…unbalanced. He might scare Eleanor.”
Maire decided to buy an extra wall TV with the rest of the inheritance money. That way the adults in the house could watch the Yummy Channel or the news while the kids tuned into SimStation Dance in the other room. Zuzu asked if the TV could be put in her and Kay’s room and was thrilled when Maire agreed. She and Heath were the first ones to try it out.
“Oh man, this is so much better than being out in the living room with those geeks.”
While everyone else was trying out the new TV, Callum was hard at work in the recruit training corps. One night his commanding officer pulled him aside and told him he had been promoted to a full-fledged recruit. Now the real work would begin!
“Aw man, even though I got promoted, I still have to go to work in this crappy car.”
Aidan returned home from work right after Callum. Accompanying him was his fellow lab assistant, Margo Singleton. Aidan had known Margo since he was a teenager and always had a little crush on her. Now that he had grown up he could actually woo her, but she was shy and he didn’t want to scare her away, so he took it slowly.
“You like the way I arrange my flask collection? That’s so sweet!”
Finally the time came for Zuzu to become an adult. Dubrey wanted to throw a little party for her, so he invited their parents over. Zuzu hadn’t seen her mom (Fiona) since Taryn’s wedding, so she gave her a big hug. (Check out all that homework stacked up on the floor and table behind them…yikes.)
“Aw, honey, you’re so thin. What are they feeding you over here?”
A cake magically appeared on the dining room table, and everyone gathered to watch Zuzu blow out the candles. She made her wish, spun around, and grew up instantly! It’s amazing how that works.
“Cool, I’m still wearing my signature color.”
So things have been…interesting…at Uncle Liam’s house. In the next few days, Callum and Kay will follow Zuzu into adulthood, leaving piles of unfinished homework behind them. What will they decide to do with their lives? And will Aidan and Rian move in with Taryn? Will Rian go cuckoo again and frighten little Eleanor? We shall see!

Liam’s ghost has yet to appear, which I find extremely odd. It would really cheer up all of the Knowledge Sims who want to see a ghost. I’m still not doing the best job of letting these Sims be autonomous, but I think I’ve found a good balance. I’m not sure if I’ll have any of these kids get married, since it means they’d have to move out, but I’d like to have some kids here again. It’s just not Uncle Liam’s house without them! Maire has no interest in getting married or having babies, though, so we’ll see. Whew, that was rambly.
YAHOOOO!! An update. Hi Jen. Wow I know you have been updating your family tree and I went in there and Zuzu’s grown up pic before the update and she looked really great even a hottie?! Which I’m a little confused on how she got all those looks and her bros and sis are like clones. Oh well I guess she got most of the looks besides Kay. Well I have been looking forward to an update and it was worth the wait. A quick question: What happens to their homework when they grow up? Does it disappear?
Any way, March is just around the corner so I know you will keep your challenge going. You are almost there and I can’t wait for you end result. I can’t wait. Thanks Jen.

Hi Mary! It’s funny, I updated the family tree photos, then got set to do my regular update when my internet bombed out on me. I ended up going to bed and doing it at work this morning, which takes forever because there’s actually work to do. Heh. Anyway, you got the early scoop. About homework, it just magically disappears once a teen becomes an adult. Nice, huh? :-)
oooh, so that’s the trick? just pile up the homework right before their birthday and it’ll just magically disappear? i must remember that next time. i’m such a slacker. i don’t even play that much anymore. my legacy family just made it not even one day. i just moved her in and now she’s in eternal slumber. oh, well… if you’re going to do the new challenge when the expansion pack comes out, i will MAKE SURE i’ll do it alongside with you.
also, your captions are just sooo funny! i would have to agree – Zuzu got all the looks – and all the boys look like clones.

Kathy – I can understand about not playing your LC family…I probably wouldn’t play mine nearly as much if I didn’t have so much fun posting about them on the blog. The gameplay itself has gotten a bit old, but I’m hoping the expansion pack will freshen things up. :-)
Mieko – What about Stefaan? He’s a blonde boy! LOL. Maybe I’ll do a neighborhood tour one of these days, but I need to tidy it up first — it’s a complete mess. Currently living at the main house are just four people — Fiona, Robi, Patrick, and Stefaan.

You have me laughing out loud, so much so that my fiance was asking me what I was laughing at. Your pictures and captions are really great and all the kids…I couldn’t handle so many teens in one place, but I suppose no one ever gets lonely. Anyway, great update. :)
I agree with everyone else, I love reading your entries and those captions. :) I haven’t had to deal with that many sims all at once yet – I can barely handle it when there’s only 4 – so I think you’re doing a great job with all of them.

alright anotehr update! been waiting for this for a few days now ^^ it’s cool that it’s 3 pages all about Uncle Liams. Man there’s a lot of teens there, dunno how Maire keep things under control. How do u get your sims to stand in a row for your growing up/birthdays? mine are all scattered everywhere, so it’s hard to get a good bday photo.
Definitely worth the wait, Jen! Everything seems to be going along great. There’s really not much to say because everyone else already said it! Lol. I agree with everything. Good luck with everything! I can’t wait to see what happend next in the Shanley household!

Leslie, you asked if Margo Singleton was a townie — she’s actually one of the first Sims I created when I got the game. The first two families I created were the Squires (all guys) and the Singletons (all girls). I wanted to give my single Sims a decent pool of people to meet and date. Nick Dobbins used to be a Squire, and Paige Dobbins and Bailey Kilman used to be Singletons. Anyway, Margo is the Knowledge girl in the bunch, so she’s perfect for Aidan! *babbles* Sorry you asked now? :-)

Great update. Whew, that’s some busy household. Looks like fun to play. I like sim madness in a house. LOL I had my first person die in one of my houses. I didn’t see it happen. I saw the inheritence animations flash over their heads but don’t know who got what? I clicked around but don’t see anything. Is there anyway to see that info afterward? I’m figuring the money was just added to the household funds.
Two main things:
1) AWWW Heath grew into such a sexy lil teenager! I love his thick glasses, it gives him some geeky sex appeal… does that even make sense? LOL.
2) I love that Rian went cuckoo and had to be “sent away.” I don’t know why, I think that was just a really creative twist to the whole thing. I’d really like to see him and Aidan move in with Taryn, and then see if he does indeed scare Eleanor… haha.. do some sims with really bad memories (i.e. Rian with all the fires) get scarred for life or are you just being imaginative?
Anywho, great update! I was going into Mt. Geneva withdrawal… Keep up the lovely updates! ^_^
Oops, forgot to answer a couple of questions —
Lauren – Good question. Usually when the person dies, you see the “top 5” people who received inheritance funds and the amounts (in a pop-up window). They might have a memory of getting inheritance money, but I’m not sure it shows the amount. But yeah, it just all gets dumped into the household funds.
Heather – Sims seem to have pretty short memories, so I haven’t seen one be scarred to life just yet, but Rian does seem to fear fires (and witness them) more than any Sims I’ve had. So when I had to come up with an explanation for him no longer being in the house, I just used that. Glad you enjoyed it!
And I totally forgot to put this in the update, but Heath was my first Sim to grow up badly — his aspiration meter was in the red when I had him grow up. I wasn’t even thinking about it at the time, I was just eager to transition him to a teen. I saw the red hourglass spin over his head, but he was smiling, so I’m not sure how it affected him. He does seem to engage in bad behavior more often than anyone else in the family, though, so maybe that’s the reason?
*raises hand to admit something* I, erm…kind of stole Liam’s name. But it is an awesome name…and I made him an uncle too. Him and his wife are having some problems right now (rejection of woohoo, you get the drift) and their poor daughter who is a toddler must suffer from it. Ah well…this soon shall change–argh, I hope!
There is now a download where you can have teens get pregnant. Will you be downloading that?
I’m a little wary of hacks and mods at this point (Merola’s multi-painting is the only one I’ve downloaded, and I’ve only used it to help with making movies), so I’ll probably pass on the teen pregnancy for now. My poor teens have it pretty rough already without me knocking them up. :-) Erm, that sounded bad.
And it sounds like your Uncle Liam has an interesting family! Coolness.
Mkay…I didn’t know if you were. I would download it…but to become a member you have to pay, give an address, and all that confusing stuff. I’d just rather keep my game nice and safe! lol Perhaps I shall send you some pictures.
