Good morning, all! Have I got news for you! I was floating around the manor when who should show up at my doorstep but my own dearly departed uncle Walt. Why, I hadn’t seen him since he died of old age a few years back! He used to farm the lands east of Berthiaume Manor (he grew the most wonderful sweet corn) and never had children, so his land went up for sale after his passing.
Well, he stopped by to tell me someone had finally bought his property. And what’s more, they’re going to build a college on it! That was exciting news, to be sure. Now the young folk won’t have to go to the big city for their education. They can stay right here in the beautiful hills and meadows of Mt. Geneva.
It’s too bad the college wasn’t built already when Will Dobbins came of age — he would have enjoyed furthering his education. Perhaps then he could have started his political career as a Lobbyist instead of a lowly campaign worker. But he seemed to work his way up to Lobbyist pretty quickly without a degree.
He also worked on getting Paige to fall in love with him, but it wasn’t easy, especially on his limited budget. He knew she was impressed by extravagance, so he scrimped and saved to buy a luxurious hot tub. Then he invited Paige and several of his friends over for a party. With people making merry all around, Will shmoozed Paige as much as he could, but it still wasn’t enough.
Until they climbed into the hot tub, that is. I don’t know if the bubbling water made her more comfortable, or what, but Paige seemed more receptive to Will’s advances. After most of the other party guests had drifted home, Paige and Will began smooching in earnest. His plan had worked!
They spent a lovely evening together, chatting and nuzzling in the hot tub, until finally Paige decided to head home. Will was so dizzy with love that he followed her out to the curb and asked her to stay — forever! He offered her a ring right then and there, and she accepted.
They married in the backyard (as seems to happen with many a Mt. Geneva wedding), and you couldn’t have asked for a lovelier ceremony. Will’s friends attended, as well as his mother Joely and his little brother Rory. Nick, despite his promise to be a better father, was nowhere to be found.
After the wedding, Randy and Rory danced to Will’s favorite salsa music…
…and Will served hamburgers in the kitchen. He couldn’t be happier, but Paige seemed a little distressed. Was she suddenly realizing that Will didn’t have a lot of money, and that she would have to wait a long time to buy the huge house and fancy furniture that she had always desired?
How will Paige and Will fare as newlyweds? Will the Dobbins family ever be together again? Will the new college be built in time for little Rory to attend when he grows up? Maude only knows! So stay tuned, dear readers. Auf Wiedersehen!
