Hello, dear readers, and welcome back to my little corner of SimNation. This is Maude Berthiaume, Mt. Geneva’s spectral scribe, with the continuing story of the Dobbins family. You’d think they were the only family in Mt. Geneva given how much I focus on them, wouldn’t you? Well, they certainly are one of my favorites to watch, but Mt. Geneva is booming, and I’d love to tell you all about some of its new inhabitants. All in good time! For now let’s see how Will Dobbins is doing now that he’s out on his own.
The first thing young Will did was buy a house. It was of modest size with only one bedroom, but the kitchen was large and spacious. Within hours of moving in, he searched the local paper, the Geneva Gabber, for a job. Deciding that Politics was the career for him (what with his love of being popular and all), Will took a position as a campaign worker for the Llama Party.
He met tons of new people at work, got to wear a spiffy suit and tie, and felt important. But nonetheless, something was missing. Did he miss his family? Or was it his lack of a love life?
One of Will’s frequent visitors was a lovely woman by the name of Paige. Will had known Paige since he was a teenager, but alas, due to the age difference, they were only friends. He hoped that now he was older it could develop into something more, but he wasn’t sure how to go about it.
One day when Paige stopped by for coffee, who happened to saunter down the sidewalk but Will’s father, Nick? Will felt all of his anger come rushing back and began to shout insults at him. They made quite a scene in front of poor Paige.
Nick was so upset by Will’s tantrum that he started crying. I had never seen him cry before! Could it be he actually felt remorse for his lecherous deeds?
Seeing his father break down, Will relented and apologized for being so harsh. He explained that he was upset by what Nick had done with Tess Blakemore all those years ago. Nick was surprised — he had no idea that Will had seen them together! He resolved right then and there to stop visiting Tess, and be the best husband and father he could be. If only things were that easy…
Nick and Will parted amicably that day, and Paige, though she had witnessed quite the family squabble, lingered to comfort Will and chat with him until 2 in the morning! A bond had formed between them that night. Will they become more then friends? I will have to keep you in suspense for now, dear readers! This is Maude, saying “Ciao!”
