Love, Marriage, and One Angry Ghost

Kiara's sweet ride

Another silly pic, just because I liked the car. This is Kiara’s carpool. As a Hall of Famer she only works three days a week, so I have her spend the other four days painting. She has sold a few masterpieces so far, and it’s a great way to keep her in platinum, since the “sell a masterpiece” want keeps spinning up for her.

The medical station floats mysteriously

I’ve noticed that the Gardener in Sims 2 doesn’t really come around often enough to keep the yard looking nice. I almost always have weeds popping up and untrimmed shrubbery galore. That, along with the parties, has caused Nia’s ghost to appear more often. In the above pic she made the medical station float off of the ground.

Nia's ghost floats up out of the bathtub

Here the bathtub seemed to fill with water and suds on its own, then Nia popped up out of the water. She also seems to enjoy turning on the TV and making the dining room chairs shake. And she’s still angry about her bed being gone.

Kaylynn hugs Devin by the swings

Devin and Kaylynn eventually fell in love, and I had Devin propose to her. When I paused to take a picture I realized they were near Kaylynn’s favorite spot — the swingset! So of course I had to get the swings into the picture.

Devin and Kaylynn sleep happily

Kaylynn moved in, and as I anticipated, she is a Family Sim. It’ll be nice to have one of those in the family for a change. She also has a 10 in Active which might explain why she likes the swings so much. No one else in the family goes near the swings unless she’s over there, and they’re all Lazy. I am hoping that Kaylynn will pass her Active genes on to the next generation.

I took the above pic of Kaylynn and Devin because I thought they looked so happy snoozing away.

Devin and Kaylynn get married

Devin and Kaylynn got married in the brand new family chapel. I figured if I’m going to have at least six more weddings on this lot, I might as well build a more permanent structure for it. It cost about §15,000 when all was said and done, but it’ll be nice not to have to buy the arch and all that stuff every generation. I took the door off when the party was over so that no one just wanders in over there — it’s hard enough to keep track of everyone as it is.

Meadow pours champagne

Here Meadow Thayer is pouring champagne to toast the newlyweds. I thought it was funny to see a teen doing that.

Bree cries over her accident

Poor Bree was trying to go to the bathroom with about 5 other Sims in there, and since they won’t sit on the toilet with other people in the room, she just wet the floor. Later on when Kaylynn and Devin returned from their honeymoon, I heard Bree outside crying. She was still upset about having her accident in front of all those people. This is what happens when I slip up in my micromanagement — they make me feel bad!

Anyway, I had Kaylynn and Devin do the customary woohoo-after-the-honeymoon thing and heard the little lullaby sound, so hopefully fourth generation is just around the corner!

  1. Great update. Hey isn’t weird how we play god with the sims and we are given guilt trips when we mess up. We then feel bad when out “god” doesn’t meet our needs and we try to give him a guilt trip. Or is that just me. Maybe we are Sims to the big guy up there and he has us on auto? Anyways just got all caught up in my own thoughts and ramble on. Love your story and keep up the great job. Hey did you get her hair style on the web or did she make it up in the fashion?
    A fan, Mary

  2. I love your Legacy story! I think Liam is a cutie too, especially with his new glasses :) Your house looks awesome!

I was thinking about building a wedding garden in my Legacy House, it is so annoying to have to buy that stuff all the time.

I just got done playing my Legacy Family some more and Colin grew up into an adult…I know what it’s like to get attached to some of your characters because Colin is just barely a day old and I’m in love with him…maybe it’s just because he’s a Romance Sim… ;)

  3. Great legacy update! The chapel was a great idea too. I’ll have to keep that in mind. And those ghosts are pesky , aren’t they? lol

  4. Building a permanant wedding spot is a good idea :) gonna have to do that once I can play sims again. I can’t play it at the moment cause my graphics card is stuffed up :( I’m missing it already. anyway, I LOVE that yellow car! one of my sim is a step away from Hall of famer. hehe can’t wait to get that car myself. by the way, do you know if the game auto swap careers into anotehr career when you reach the top of one career like it did in The Sims 1?

Keep the legacy stories coming, as a matter a fact, all stories coming. can’t wait to see what happens with yoour college story line ^^

  5. I’m glad you guys are enjoying these updates, because we have six generations to go yet…yipes.

Mary – Hi and thanks for your comments! To answer your question about Kaylynn’s wedding hairdo — I downloaded it from The Sims Resource. I wish we could change the wedding gown, too, but oh well! :-)

Janice – Hey there, always nice to see your comments! You asked about auto-swapping careers in Sims 2 — I haven’t seen it happen yet, nor have I heard anything about it. My elders continue in the same career until they die, unless they retire or lose their job to a chance card (grumble grumble)…
