Day 4, Thursday, 10:32 PM
Wowie. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to sleep tonight. I’m just — weirdly happy. Happy happy happy WOOO! In fact, I’m so happy that I’m annoying myself. Knock it off, Fran.
Why am I so happy, you ask? Well, I’m not really sure. I mean, I have an idea. A few ideas, actually.
Some of it might be excitement over my mom being pregnant. I am PSYCHED to have a new brother or sis (hopefully a sis). My mom has started “showing”, by the way. It’s so weird. I’m used to seeing her with a flat tummy, and then all of a sudden: BUUUMP. Like she fell on it and got a giant goose-egg.
She was in high spirits today — apparently she slept till noon, which would explain it. Any day you can sleep till noon is a very good day, in my opinion.
When I got home from school, she was playing the piano. I love it when she does that. She used to give piano lessons to the neighborhood kids back in our old town, but it’s rare to hear her just flat-out play. And you know, she’s really good. Gives me chills sometimes. And I’m not saying that just because she’s my mom. (Although my Mom is completely awesome.)
My dad, on the other hand, attacked the job market with so-called “FEROCITY!” today by staying home in his jammies and doing nothing.
Uncle Elvis said that Dad went outside exactly twice: first, to get the mail (which he frowned at and threw to the floor), and second, to get the newspaper. Apparently he glanced at the job ads in the paper for about two seconds before settling on the crossword puzzle. He then spent the rest of the day working on that.
Elvis didn’t do much better with the job-hunting, but not for lack of trying. My dad wouldn’t relinquish the newspaper (the crossword puzzle and the job ads were two sides of the same page, sadly), so Elvis decided today was the perfect day to plant some tomatoes.
A LOT of tomatoes, apparently. I have no idea what he’s going to do with them all. Let ’em go rotten, then chuck ’em at passing mimes? Who knows.
Maybe he’ll open up a roadside stand. I’m sure the denizens of Riverblossom Hills could use more tomaters.
(continued on Page 2)
Jen, you are SUCH a good writer. So good…that was lovely reading. :-)
Aww…Fran and Joel, skating in the rink…bless her. :) I really hope they get together, they look so cute already! Where did you get Joel’s clothes, by the way? I vaguely remember Ron Ravelo wearing them once. Sorry to be a bother.
I’d love to work in a record store! I hope Fran gets that job – but knowing her luck I bet she and Rico will end up switching jobs, which really blows.
Cool update! :D
Hey Jen (or should I say, Fran) Great Update as usual! This is my first time commenting. Any how, is the skating rink a hack, download, or what? I have every sims game except for Seasons and the stuff packs, so I was curious.
Hi. great update. I hope that Alica and Rico doesn’t ruin Fran and Joel’s reltionship coz they look so cute together.
Keep Simming
See ya
GREAT UPDATE! I forsee a few love songs in Joel and Fran’s future! ;) *The Love Boat…*
sooooooooo cooooooooool!! hey can sum1 giv me da code 2 university pleeeeeeeze! my best m8 lost it on me shez new 2 da wonderful world of simz! {allysmartcarthy@hotmail.com} xxx
Great update Jen! The skating rink has become one of my favorite items! It is so cute to see sims spinning (and falling!) around. I think Franchesca and Joel are absolutely adorable together! Maybe next update we’ll see their first kiss?! I’m just as giddy as Franchesca!
Aw, Fran and Joel are so cute skating together! :) I hope Rico doesn’t mess things up for Fran and Joel.
The skating is so cute! How did I totally forget to make my Sims go skating? I still haven’t tried that…
A+, Jen! Do you know how rare it is to read about ‘youth love’ that’s not one hundred percent saccharine with a few drama bombs? :D This actually read realistic, like she’s secretly furiously scribbling down ‘Fran + Joel’ everywhere but keeping her cool in public. I really like it.
Oh that was awesome Jen! I hope Francesca ends up at a record store promoting Llama Mama’s new album (due out soon!) The skating rink was very cute. There’s so much new stuff to play with, isn’t there? Awesome. I loved it.
Oh Geez… if what amalinaball said is true… I don’t want to think about it. What if they get all the jobs??
Frans’ dad is such a loser!!! Crossword puzzles?? Ferocity?? Sure, sure.
I love Joel!! He’s absolutly perfect for Fran, but I didn’t know he had a sister… and what was up with her and Rico??
Keep Simming!!!
Ooooh I can so see what is going to happen now. Fran wants the record store job but will get stuck helpin’ the old folks out at the nursing home. That would be hilarious. And her dad is being a slacker! He needs to get going! Can’t he see his whole family is trying to help but him? Uh oh, a budding romance. I think that Alicia and Rico will have a love-hate relationship, and Joel and Fran will have a witty, talkative relationship (Gilmore-Girls-ish?) Anyway, I really enjoyed that update, it was great!
nice entry! cant wait for more!
OOh, this is Wonderful. I can’t remember if I asked before, but I do know that I was thinking it, but what eyes do you use for these stories? I’ve been searching and I gave up because I get easily distracted, but I’d love to use those same eyes.
Yay Jen!!! I really hope Fran and Joel get a little closer next time…;)!!! I love this story line, and I can’t wait to see if the baby is a boy or a girl…being in Paris with a 6-hour-time difference makes you confuzzled and tired, so nighty night for now…can’t wait for the update!
Oh Jen, I love it! It’s adorable. Oh, and I wouldn’t be surprised if I found you were going to build a record store so you can take pictures of them hanging out in it, either! If you ever do, let us know–I’ve been trying to make one and I’m looking for downloads to use. :D
Anyway, I love the update and I love your sims. Fran is the cat’s whiskers, indeed.
Great, keep them coming Jen! I can’t wait for the next update.
I love Fran! The shots of the teens at the skating rink were great! It’s awesome how they have skates with their high heels/sandals. You rock, Jen!
Hi Jen! Sorry for not poking my head in for ages but I have been away for the last five weeks so barely anytime to even update my blog. I am loving the Francesca diaries so much… they are seriosuly awesome and so so funny. Got me loling in the office more than I should be =). I really love your writing style… Francesca kind of reminds me of Fleur from “My life is a toilet”. I love her sarcastic way of telling her story. And I love Uncle Elvis… how hilarious… poor guy not only is his name Elvis but his girl ran off with a mime. I just loved the line a few posts back about how at least Elvis would actually do the dishes rather than pretend to =). And the karate cat is supercool too.
You ARE a great storyteller, Jen. :O) I’m loving how this story is told from a TEEN’S point of view. We more often than not get things from the adult’s point of view … even when they have kids of their own.
Joel is so sweet … :O)
Thanks so much for the comments! I’m late, but to answer a few questions:
amalinaball – Ha, I totally forgot Ron Ravelo wore that shirt once! Wow, you must have a photographic memory. The shirt is from the Sims Boutique.
simlover – I think someone else might have answered this already, but the skating rink is a new object in Seasons.
Eva – I use the eyes from Siluettasims. Unfortunately they’re not available right now because she’s moving to a new host, but I hope she’ll be back up and running soon…
