New Look, Possibly Temporary

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that my Mt. Geneva template went wonky all of a sudden, so I’ve switched to this one until I figure out what’s going on with it. I thought upgrading from WordPress 2.0 to 2.0.1 might fix the problem (I seemed to have a corrupted file for awhile there), but no dice. I’ll just have to putz around with the CSS and do some research to see if I can fix it. In the meantime, this template, while not perfect, will just have to do! Happy Simming and all that good stuff. :-)

  1. I like the new layout pretty well! It’s all so… clean. Like, “WHOA, I can even smell the bleach” clean.
What kind of problems were cropping up? I’ll try and help as much as I can– CSS and HTML are my dearest loves.
…not so much with PHP, but our relationship is still in the starting stages. Yarr.

  2. My only problem is that the text is very fuzzy – I have to squint to be able to read it, it’s like spiderweb thin dark chalk against the super white background. :/

  3. I like it! Though, not as much as the old layout, but its still nice. And yeah, like Blu said it looks so clean and fresh :D I dont find the text fuzzy, but maybe it depends what browser you use?

  4. Katie – My archives should still be there — you just have to click on the month, then click on the title for the post you want to view. Hope that works!

    – You love CSS and HTML? I want to be your friend! (like Pegasus) I have no end of trouble with them. My layout seemed to be working just dandy until the other day — for no reason whatsoever, my sidebar popped down below my main page (you may have seen it — it was that way for awhile). Usually it only does that if someone makes a comment that has a long string of characters in it. But that wasn’t the case this time. I tried changing some of the column widths and such in my stylesheet, but nothing worked (unless I made my whole page super wide, which looked silly). I don’t know why it just stopped working all of a sudden. Any ideas?

Kay – Squinting is no good! I changed the body text to black and made the sidebar & comment text larger. Does it look any better?

Kath – Hi Kath! I meant to say earlier, I’m so sad your site went away. But I’m glad you’re readin’ the blogs, because at least get to hear from you that way!

  5. Hi, Jen. Remember me? It’s been a long while. I’ve been quiet in the comments here, but I haven’t missed one of your posts or stories. I’ve really enjoyed them all!

Anyway, just want to let you know that this layout displays better for me than your previous one (I use Firefox, by the way). In the previous layout your sidebar was kinda scrunched up. It’s just because Firefox and IE display things a bit differently. Your layout looked perfect in IE. Silly browsers. I wish they all worked the same. It makes coding difficult at times.

  6. *sings* I can see clearly now.. :D
It is beautimous, Jen ma’am! I give it two thumbs and monkey toes up!
