Brrrrr

Hey, I figured out how they make snow on the North Pole:

”Making

Wouldn’t you know, that was the first thing Santa and the Mrs. did when I moved them into their Christmas house last week. Thought I’d share it just for kicks. (Credits: House by Pinecat at The Sims Resource, Santa & Mrs. Claus apparel/hair by Maxis.)

Elsewhere in the news…IT’S COLD!!! Below zero! Why do I live in Minnesota?? :-) Ah well, the snow is pretty…as long as you don’t have to drive in it.

Ravelo update coming soon (hopefully Tuesday night) and Annabel Island on the weekend, if not before. Until then, Happy Simming! And stay WARM!

  1. Where did you get that snow groundcover? :o I’ve been looking all over for one.

I live in southern Arizona. We hardly ever get snow and our winters are cold, but not too cold (although /I/ freeze when it gets below 60, so.. lol!).

  2. Hi Audrey, you can find a nice variety of snow groundcovers at Jendea’s site — just look for the “Snowy Mountain: Winter Textures” icon on the lower right hand side of the home page. Otherwise there are probably some on Mod the Sims 2 somewhere, too! I’ve downloaded so many different snow textures from so many different sites, I’ve lost track of them all. :-)

Arizona! That sounds so nice and toasty!

  3. Hey Jen, thanks for the picture and the link! Now I’m gonna have snow in Baltimore Bay too ;) – and meanwhile here in Germany snow is falling in some parts. Here in Frankfurt the first snow has already melted but I’m hoping for a white christmas none the less. Veeeery keen on reading more about the Ravelos! Can’t wait for tonight (for me it’s probably tomorrow then *g*, due to timezones). We just have noon here, waiting for my lunch, mom’s gonna do some real german meal for me ‘Maultaschen’ *lol*. It’s like giant Raviolis or Tortellinis. Haha, like giant Ravelos :) :). Well, enough from me silly, wish you a nice day!

  4. Florida? You guys are killing me! I walked to my park-and-ride lot this morning in -30 degrees Fahrenheit! OK, so that’s with windchill, and it was only two blocks, but then I had to wait for the bus! My lungs froze! Heehee.

    Hi Lindsey, by the way!

Eva M, I hope you get a white Christmas, too! We almost didn’t have one last year, and then it snowed on Christmas Eve, which was lovely. Hm, the ‘Maultaschen’ sound good! :-D

  5. That picture is really cute. Here in Chicago it felt like zero degrees last night what with the humidity and all. Brrr. And, I’m planning on going to Wyoming for Christmas. I must be crazy. There’s no way I’m not getting a white Christmas there (after all, they had a white Halloween).

By the way, I loved how you did the Ravelo’s Branch Out update. I can never make 20 grandkids even remotely interesting and yet you did combined with those really awesome portraits! Do you end up taking the pictures and then hanging them on the wall for the Sims to look at? I don’t have much experience with posing for pictures, I only have the camera on my ISBI lot and so all the pics I take have to be candid.

  6. It’s hanging in the 30s to 40s over here in Washington. We did have one day with snow, but it mostly melted when hitting the ground. Woo for snow grounds! I’ll have to download some. :D

  7. Hi from West Michigan. Even though we get the lake effect snow from Lake Michigan, it’s around twenty degrees warmer here than the west side of the Lake. Thank you Lake Michigan. I love the picture. I’m glad Santa and Mrs. Clause are able to find time to unwind. Good times, good times.

  8. Alrighty then. Can’t wait for that Annabel Island update on the weekend. And the RAvelo’s of course. It’s not snowing here, but I surely am freezing.

  9. What about New Zealand, all you cold little popsicles? It’s summer here right now! Anyway, Jen, I look forward to the next update. Keep shivering!

  10. Kansas feels freezing about this time in the year. We keep getting snowed on but not enough for school to close. It wouldn’t be good for the people who don’t get to have snow days like postal workers but it would be nice to have some snow days while I’m allowed to take them, right? I can’t wait for the next update on Cecily and how she got to this point or the introduction to another family of Annabel Island! Or whatever you write is fine with me!

  11. We’re feeling it over here, too! Every year I ask myself why I live in South Dakota. Six months of winter, then six months of construction season… arrghhh.

Santa’s pillow almost looks like a toy bag there, doesn’t it? So cute.

  12. Hola! Brr, it’s cold where I am too! But not in my nice warm cozy house, hehe…I’m going to camp out in front of my computer until the next update >.>

  13. hey! lol that’s a really nice snap shot! I’ve yet to try out the christmas pack, should get around that soon, been watching/catching up on so many movies and tv series XD

since I live in the sourthern hemisphere, it’s Summer in Australia at the moment. But strangely the last couple of days have been pretty chilly here, strong winds and rain o.o well can’t wait to catch up on another Ravelo post! Laters

  14. All you lucky people don’t know what you’re talking about! Here in Sydney it’s disgustingly hot – 32 degrees Celsius. I don’t know what that is in fahrenheit, but whatever it is it’s TOO HOT! All the kangaroos are melting where they sit. Actually, i wouldn’t know, since there aren’t may kangaroos in inner city sydney, but i’m sure they are feeling the heat as well. What i wouldn’t give for some snow.

  15. Wow It would feel totally weird for me if Christmas was in summer O_O But I guess you get used to it, right?
Its freezing where I live (Wales, in the UK) and it rains every day. It’s been raining for 3 weeks solid! But I doubt we will get a white christmas, we hardly ever get snow and if we do, it’s about three inches of it at the most.

What a cute little update Jen, and I cant wait for the next Annabel Island one!

  16. It’s so cool to see where some of you are located. And it seems that very few of us are enjoying our particular weather at the moment! Heh.

I worked on the Ravelos last night but didn’t get very far (had to deal with some real life family stuff), so I’m hoping to finish tonight. Annabel Island update still scheduled for the weekend.

Bitsy, I didn’t know you were doing the ISBI challenge! I had a blast with that, but it’s definitely difficult. Maybe you can give me some tips so I can continue with the Chinchillas. As for the Ravelo portraits, I didn’t take any pics to hang on the wall; I just used the camera to pose them. It’s so very handy for that.
