Dark Desires and Dastardly Deeds

That night Juan sneaked up on his unsuspecting mother-in-law and pitched a water balloon squarely at her back. As it burst and soaked her pajamas, Mia turned on Juan with a hateful scowl. Juan simply chuckled.

Mia is not pleased
“Well, now, Mia, how’d you get so wet? Did we have ourselves a little ac-cee-dent?”

Instead of ignoring this juvenile behavior, Mia lashed out.

Mia pokes Juan
“You think your pranks are funny? You think because you’re a part of this family you can push us around? Well, you’re wrong, Coach! Your six-pack abs and handsome features may have won over my daughter, but they don’t dazzle me one bit!”

Upon hearing all the commotion, Marcel ambled into the foyer to see what was going on. Mia hadn’t paid much attention to him lately, but now she took his hand and looked lovingly into his eyes. They ogled each other for a good while, completely ignoring Juan.

Marcel and Mia make up
“I’ll show you six-pack abs! Well…maybe more like a five-pack, but still!”

Cut to the core by Mia’s words, Juan went in search of his wife. He found her meditating, as pregnant Shanley mothers had done for generations.

“Delaney!” he called out, stomping up to her. “DELANEY!”

But she was too deep into her meditative state to respond.

Delaney meditates
“I can’t heeeear youuuuu…”

Life went on without major incident for the next few months. Marcel channeled his frustrated criminal desires into writing rather popular novels of suspense, Mia kept on saving the world, and Sierra learned to knock before entering the bathroom. Juan put his pranking on hold for the time-being, preferring instead to mingle amiably with the family – well, as amiably as a graceless nincompoop can.

The family mingles
“Hey, Marcel – quit standing there like a dolt and fry me up some eggs, will ya?”

Eventually Delaney stopped meditating and gave birth to a lovely little girl. She named her Ruby, for the rich redness of the eyebrows that crowned her serious gray eyes.

An ecstatic Mia delighted in playing peek-a-boo with her new granddaughter.

Mia plays with Ruby
“Where did the superhero go? Where did the superhero go? HERE she is!!”

Juan put his utmost effort into being a good father, sharing as much as he could in taking care of little Ruby.

Juan feeds Ruby
“Are you gonna be Daddy’s little prankster? Huh?”

Once Sierra saw how happy Juan and Delaney were with their new baby, she felt her maternal urges grow stronger than ever. Though she was still engaged to Sheldon, she decided instead to pursue Professor Thomas Day, with whom she had become great friends. Within the course of one flirtatious afternoon, their friendship became something more.

Sierra and Professor Day
“I think I’ve got the best gray-haired gent on the block.”

Yes, Professor Day was smitten, and Sierra was certain she wanted to marry him. Now she only had to figure out how to get rid of that pesky Sheldon…

  1. Ruby is too cute!I don’t like Juan the prankster, but he does liven things up a bit!Should we be expecting another little Shanley soon from Sierra, too?Seems she may be getting married to the old guy of her dreams, also! :)

  2. You have a knack for making people laugh with your hilarious and quirky commentary on the lives of your sims. Great update Jen, I really enjoyed it.

  3. That was so funny! Great update Jen. You get the pictures to match up so well with the story, you’re a truly gifted Sims Blogger :)

  4. I needed a good laugh this morning, and here was another shanley update providing that. I’m pretty sure I have run into a few young men possed by darth vader lately. Can you send the exorcist my way? :)

  5. Awww, little Ruby has surely got to be the sweet little Shanley child you were hoping for! Juan isn’t the most pleasant man ever, but at least he’s got nice features for Ruby to carry on. It’s quite a coincidence that Mia is a policewoman (or a superhero) and Marcel is a criminal! And they don’t have Pez dispensers in Canada? Marcel, we salute you!

  6. Aw. Ruby’s adorable. I love the little TS2 babies. After the TS1 babies, it was such achange of pace. (I hate the crying green basket. *haaate!*)
I had a criminal and a police officer living in the same house once– twice, if you count in TS1. I always thought it was funny when that happened. I mean… wouldn’t one arrest the other? *shrug*

  7. Just wanted to let you know that I updated my blog again, Jen. It’s aliiiiiiive! With the sound of 22 pics. ;)

  10. Glad you guys enjoyed the update. It’s fun to sort of sit back and let the Shanleys do their thing while I think about the next Brayton update. And let me say YAY! to those of you who have updated your blogs. Reading other Sims blogs inspires me as well. :-)

Still working diligently on the Braytons, and HOPE *crosses fingers and toes and eyes* to have an update ready by Sunday night. Stay tuned!
